One of my favorite folk artists ...always 'controversial' in the things he said about all of us.

It's Easy Money part 2 with different lyrics and a different vibe.

I think the controversial thing about Ladies of the Road is how stupid it is.

I do find "Ladies of the Road" to be racy but I'm not offended by it because the lyrics have a somewhat Comedy Vibe to them.
By the way does anyone find that one Utopia Song called "Hiroshima" to be controversial?
I'm confused as to whether the song is anti war or pro war.

Jon Anderson, Greg Lake, and Pete Sinfield mainly Big smile

I liked Keith Reid's lyrics in "In Held Twas In I", escpeically part 1 (Glimpses Of Nirvana), and Peter Hammill in VDGG

If we have to suffer with ELP lyrics what makes you think you don't?  Now, you can join us in the misery that is Gregory Stuart Lake's poetic masterpiece, the 4th verse of "Taste of My Love" Sick

LOL    That Google translation is absolutely hilarious! Can't stop laughing! LOL

The effect of the original English is much the same Handshake

Yeah, I know, it's awful. It actually makes me cringe. LOL

The other verses are almost as bad...translate them at your own risk LOL

I wonder how many Eastern European prog lyricists during the Soviet era got in trouble with the authorities for political reasons. Plastic People of the Universe is the only example I can think of, but there has to be more out there.

( Besides, I don't ever listen to those late abominations, my preferences are the first five albums, the only ones I own).

For real, you don't listen to ELP for Greg Lake. It's for keyboard geeks almost exclusively.

Guilty!

And hey, it's my 100th post!

The lyrics to "Broken Hearts Are For @$$holes" are superb (and hilarious).

That was the cost of giving us some of the best prog music: ELP also came packaged with gawdawful lyrics. Not all of the songs, but...perhaps most of them. Who ever listened to ELP for their lyrics, right?

Gaza by Marillion caused a lot of stir recently. They took a lot of heat for that song but it is one of their best to date.
Let's make Prog a family again. Tired of Snobbery and trolling. We all have a right to love what and who we love so lets respect and appreciate all who care about the finest music in the world... prog
