Identity
Immensely entertaining suspense full of increasingly bizarre occurrences at a remote Nevada motel during a rainstorm. Strong ensemble cast and no-nonsense twists; where Psycho left off. Recommended. |

Narc
Grim, dreary and ultraviolent crime drama has Jason Patric as a weary undercover detective partnered with corrupt Ray Liotta on the trail of a cop-killer. Well made if bleak, and Liotta is spectacular; one of his best performances. |

^ I wanna see Ichi the Killer. Gotta be good. I've recently found myself on a bit of a horror movie kick.

One of a handful of horror movies that has an extremely well written script. Not really a true horror movie either, just unflinchingly violent and gore-y. There were a good multiple times where I just couldn't watch, and a good many where I somehow stomached through them. |

yeah ichi is a great film......although i do find Oldboy more disturbing......which i aint going to say but it involves the twist when you find out what the main character has been up to with a certain someone.....and then his decision after......that was just wrong......still......great film. if you like oldboy try "sympathy for mr vengence"

Speaking of Ichi, Oldboy, etc, has anyone else seen `I Saw The Devil'? Vile, repulsive film, but with two absolutely superb lead performances.

I like the Vengeance trilogy as a whole, but each one for different reasons. I also liked Park Chan-wook's bit on Three Extremes, but I liked the part by the Ichi the Killer director more, which means i should probably see that movie. |

Class Reunion Massacre (aka The Redeemer:Son of Satan)
Stylish ultra-low budget horror schlock from '78 with some heart but little inspiration. Bad, oh yes, that's an understatement, but I have seen worse. |

Seen Looper - it's pretty good. A bit predictable in places but enjoyable none-the-less.

I just watched Pink Flamingos here the other day. Even for today's standards, it's still extremely provocative. Waters made a small kitsch masterpiece imho.
Small note though: I once saw this thing with some female friends of mine, and out of 5 only one managed to keep it together for the whole playing time. In other words, choose your company wisely before you decide to watch this ![]() I love the scene at the grocery store that turns completely surreal, when Divine starts putting slabs of meat between her thighs.

The Man With The Iron Fists is horrible. All it is is fights and unnecessary nudity and sexual scenes. That's all RZA can offer you.

RZA was a genius during the mid 90s, now he's merely a shadow of himself.
I do like his acting in American Gangster as undercover street cop, but then again he's just playing himself.

If you're on a horror movie kick then these may be worth a watch for you - Inside, Frontier(s), Martyrs, Haute Tension (Switchblade Romance) - they are french horror movies in the extreme category. All four are good but you do need to know that they are more than a little gory. On the Japanese side a movie called Audition is very good. The above movies are about as far as I will push the limits of horror although I have seen others that are way too much for my sensibilities - e.g. A Serbian Film - which I wouldn't recommend to anyone (once you've watched something you can't unwatch it). The above mentioned French movies along with Audition are good though and didn't push my comfort levels too much.

Saw "Green Street Hooligans" the other day. I guess it's allright, but it is an obvious attempt at cashing in on the success of the, imo, much better Football Factory made the previous year.
It's funny to see the things Elijah Wood tried to do in order to distance himself from the ever-present Frodo character. The one I find the most hilarious, is his role as insane cannibalistic serial killer in Sin City. That oughta show us that he can do other things, but alas, I don't think I'll ever be able to distinguish him from that part. Every time I catch a flick of his - even the early ones where he's just a kid, I immediately cry out Frodo!
