Nah, man, you're not. It's just unfortunate that you're a bit younger than us and naturally we'd all have trouble unifying because of it, and it's not your fault.  You should really stop hanging around with depressed 20 somethings and find friends your own age. Because of your musical taste, you're already more interesting that most of those kids by default.

What Alan said.

It is, in a nutshell, the age difference, Smarty. We're all pretty sad people by nature and we know you're not and really wish you wouldn't make these steps that will inevitably lead you to becoming one.

But that's the thing I've never understood. I know I'm a few years (or, for some of you, 5+) younger then you guys, but who gives a sh*t? Does it really make that much of a difference? I mean, I know I'm not as mature than most of you, but am I really that immature?

It's unfortunately an unavoidable social stigma that, while it doesn't make much sense in hindsight, has probably perpetuated itself in our own lives from similar experiences. Obviously, we're way younger than the weird brits who basically run this site, and we don't really get along with them because they're different in a way that doesn't mesh well with our personalities, which we've accepted and moved to the shred to be around people our own age, which is what we all probably think is good for you too. It's not that you're immature, but you are younger and we older folk have trouble connecting and understanding the mind of someone you're age. It's not your fault-- it's mostly our fault for not being as accepting as you expect, which is something that is psychologically difficult to alter.

I haven't been able to connect with anyone my age sense I was in the 4th grade. The few people I've been able to consider my friends are older, and I don't know why

Me neither, that's why I come here and hang out with people my own age on the internet, and sometimes you even get lucky and find a girlfriend on the internet, and then you learn about different countries and whatever. You don't absolutely have to try to make friends outside of PA, but it would probably be a good idea. And we don't want to ban you from our lives or anything, we just don't want you to expect that you'll be in the close "we're old" bond we've knit with each other by connecting on similar problems at similar points in life, and we probably just wont "get" you all the time.

And I do understand what you're saying. It just sucks, you know? I really like you guys, and even though I know I can still be around and talk, it still feels like I'm all of a sudden less of a part of this "group".

I certainly don't have friends outside of PA Tongue Cry

Nothing has changed regarding you in the group, and you've not done anything wrong. Keep doing as you were, and perhaps as you grow with us, we'll all connect better.
