Funny you mention Francis Dunnery. Jack (in my band) lent me a CD of his last week. I had no idea who he was, but it looks like he was in a band called It Bites, which I haven't heard but I think I know who they are. Anyway, the album is really quite nice -- sophisticated adult pop, the kind of thing that was much more plentiful in the 70s and 80s. No attitude, no image, just well crafted pop music that doesn't pander but isn't confrontational either. So much "solo artist" material nowadays is just so self-consciously "edgy" or "emotional" or "intellectual" nowadays, which isn't a bad thing, but it's nice to hear things done they way they used to now and then.

Although I think most people, at their core, are nice, I also believe most people are very stupid, ignorant, and afraid. And that ignorance can very easily screw things up.

Ok... But there are at least 550 people in Washington DC that are not nice.
And I'm sure there are more sh*tty people out there.
What you're saying is that you understand you are an idealist and its easier to dream of how you wish things could be... Instead of actually attempting to conceive an achievable vision?

It Bites are an old school neo-prog band. I never heard of them until their recent reunion. Francis Dunnery is no longer in the band, as he was replaced by John Mitchell of Arena fame. I've got a couple of Dunnery solo albums and sophisticated adult pop is a good description of them.
