Parents getting divorced is mostly a good thing, if things are forced up to that point. Why deny the happiness of others? You get closer to how things really are. Acceptance of change, not bitterness, is the way forward.
Grow, rather than wither, and break free from this strange and puritan form of family stasis. Everything changes. Even love.
Or perhaps that's just the Europe in me talking.
