The Pollard one is from Not In My Airforce and the Sprout one is from Lost Planets & Phantom Voices.

Thanks Steve. Embarrassed

I plan to at some point.  Prog Folk isn't one of my preferred genres but now and then a band will really strike me the right way.

I'm not trading you any sentient beings k Stern Smile (for free)

Today I feel like prog and still haven't ordered those CDs. I really should just put my wishlist in front of a dart board, but I don't think a big enough one exists.

I actually do that.

1-27 (because alpha order)
1-X where X=amount of bands beginning with that letter/number
1-Y where Y=amount of albums released by the band

Pretty tough question.  His "official" albums (i.e. actually released on a label) are relatively few, and are comprised of highlights from his self-released albums, of which there are hundreds, and which contain a lot of experimental stuff that usually didn't make it to the albums.  Probably the best way to go is one of the official albums, or even one of those "greatest hits" compilations.  I see you've already listened to Phonography, his first "official" album, with songs taken from his self-released albums spanning roughly 1973-76.  It's a landmark in "DIY" legend, rightfully so.  You've also checked out a compilation that has a pretty good cross section of his most loved material, if I recall correctly.   His most well-known period is the late 70s to early 80s, but he's still putting out (self-released) albums today, and the most recent one I got (Space Bar, 2010) is well up to the standard of his more experimental stuff.  But a basic knowledge of Moore starts with the 70s, and I love these ones:

"Greatest hits" albums:
Greatesttits
Contact Risk
The Future is Worse Than the Past
Hundreds of Hiding Places

"Official" releases:
Phonography
Delicate Tension
Glad Music

Self-Released albums:
Swing and A Miss
Sheetrock
Stevie Moore Next / Apologies to Gottlieb
Stevie Moore Returns
Games and Groceries

For some real out-there stuff, try these

All Twenty Minutes (noise/ musique concrete / sound collage from early 70s)
Grease (a ridiculous spoken/sung "concept piece" released with some friends goofing around in 1969)

Actually that was an EP from 78, "Stance". I was going to Delicate Tension, too sense they were made at the same time but I decided to wait.
