Maybe there's another world out there that is all shred, and we will make peace with them and they will share their secrets of how to thrive on depression.

Shred isn't depression. From my experience it's a form of wide-eyed sense of lack of purpose, eternally drifting through the digital wastelands in the form of a discreetly howling restless spirit.
