"Mercury" is  somehow prog-related in this instance.
 
"Mercury" is not part of his name  nor in the title of any of his output.
 
It cannot  have anything to do with Hermes, since that's not a living "he".
 
I cannot think of any synonyms for "mercury". (Other than "hot-headed" for "mercuric")
 
I give-up.
