.........or have I just worked this out..........Ping

Tom, that happens to me all the time, someone mentions something and then I go and dig it out, or make sure I listen to it on my Ipod right away.

But it could be worse....my `affliction' is like above, where someone in here mentions an album, and I want to race off and put in an order for it right away! See, I trust the word of all of you, knowing you all have supreme taste and know that I'll be rewarded with a good album!

Oh, and Jim/AEP's pyro/burning agenda in tribute to the Prog Gods has been quite clear for some time....as long as he's not actually burning prog albums to keep that fire going!

Yes. Mentioned albums between us prog heads has a serious effect. It's like a chain reaction. How many times have we listened to tangerine dream based on mention? Lots. You know why? It's because their are very few of us out there who really cherish and understand our music that we love. I mean Micheal, how many people can you really talk 'prog' with outside of the PA family? For me, it's 2 people and one of them is my brother. Lol and he is just getting into it. Anyway, I'm gonna go crank some goblin and listen to Tangram after in your honor of course.

Oh and all hail that big-pile of Italian smoke!! :)
Gimmie my headphones now!!! 🎧🤣

Il Ruscello Paesaggio Solare (Estate 1972) album cover

Damn, Jim, just when I get one order wrapped up, another suggestion like this comes my way and the whole process begins again!

Hey, the Montefeltro album (or as I remember it, `that Italian album with the green cover' ) is coming along nicely, symphonic keyboard washes overload!

More than once I have walked through our entire roster of bands in the sub.  You quickly realize after even many years there are still albums you haven't heard.  But with RPI it's a good problem to have! Smile

^ Amen, brother.

I've just experienced this treat, here on the site in the Prog Folk sub. Not RPI, but they are from Italy:

"I have seen the broken sky turn blue."

Having not quite reached a year into RPI world.  I get a handfull of RPI albums and after a couple of weeks or so of listening, I then think I am going to work on my existing RPI list of albums....and there comes another post of another band that was not on the radar that peaks the interest and gets pushed to the top of the list....the list is a mess now LOL.

Thanks Jim for the Il Ruscello album post, from the samples I have listened to I gotta have it!  It is available on the zon pretty reasonable.

PS - Michael, I know I may have not mentioned it before as acknowledged on previous posts, but your reviews are very worthy!  I would love to to see your review of Jacula's Tardo...
Dude, do you get paid to burn foliage or are you just a pyro waving your poker stick around whilst digging awesome Prog  ??? LOL

My payment for burning foilage is less nagging from the wife about landscaping and a 24 oz can of cold Malt Liquor by my side during the burn (which induces me into my pyro poker stick antics).Tongue

That would be sacrileg to do such a thing!  I have been tempted to swipe some rapping hippoty hopping albums and toss them into the fire....that surely would be a pleasing aroma to the Prog Gods!

JIm/AEP, I suggest you go one step further and throw the actual rappers themselves on the fire! Mmmm, they burn up good! Especially most of those modern (ahem) `R&B' ones, they're the most full of s**t, and that's sure to fuel the fire very well!

Todd! I am pumped now, I've got this CD in my order that's speeding it's way to me from Greg Walker, and I was really just taking a chance on it! I am officially excited now!

Listening to a few samples on that link now, Pierre. At least the accent is noticeable...but I'm really liking what I hear! That album cover looks both cute and rather horrific at the same time!

So far it sounds like one of the better English vocals I've heard on an Italian album. THey actually remind me a little of the earlier Glass Hammer albums when Steve Babb used to sing lead.

Sigh...In a perfect world there would be TWO versions offered - English and Italian!

Guys, there's something you should be on the lookout for...one of the best debut albums from an exciting young RPI group....I think Andrea has posted this on this blog page before, but you need to see this:

Unreal City:

Just inspires me seeing a bunch of good-looking youngsters who've totally overdosed on classic RPI while bringing youthful energy.

Sounds like video game music at the beginning. My sister was over and she heard me listening to your link and she asked me 'are you playing a game?' lol

Heh, I gave that album another spin at work just before, and when I got to the beginning of that track I was laughing, it's quite boppy and quirky! I can totally imagine that bit playing in a colourful old-school platformer!
