Finally got around to ordering this album which has been on my list for a while:

Thanks Chris, yes, mine mentioned something like that so I wasn't sure if it meant mini LP type packaging or not. Looking forward to hearing it!

Very interested in that Gan Eden now, I'd hoped Amazon would have it in stock themselves and I would had added it to my `pending' order before it ships!

Any other recommendations from 90's Italian prog anyone can think of I can quickly check Amazon for to add?!

90's? I remember I used to like A Piedi Nudi. I have two albums which I haven't listened to in years...I wonder if I would like it today....

Gan Eden?? I'm surprised to see a band with a title name in Hebrew, it means garden of eden , but I guess you already know that. Sadly that link is not working, I'll look it up myself, thanks!

Good input, I don't think I would have thought about it that way at first glance.  Nice track, I think I will explore them some more.

Curious of what everyone's top 3 RPI listening pleasure was "this week"?
For me it was:
1. Rovescio Della Medaglia - Contaminazione (I don't think I will ever tire of this one)
2. Le Orme - Collage
3. QVL - QVL

Just dropping by to tell a brief story about one of my experiences with RPI.

I'm good friends with an Italian exchange student at my school, and prog-rock came up. Naturally, I mentioned PFM. He was stunned I knew them, as he was a huge PFM fan. Unfortunately, he didn't know stuff like Le Orme, Banco, Alphataurus, and the like. Got him into Harmonium though, even though they're not RPI.
I consider drone metal to be progressive...

MARCELLO GIOMBINI : ASTROMUSIC (1981). Library, electro. Interesting.

All in good time, Mr King! The seeds have been sown, you've got your foot in the door, now overload him with RPI!

JIm/AEP! My top 3 Italian Prog this week (I'm cheating, as these aren't really RPI titles) for titles that I've listened to the most would be:

1. THE YLECLIPSE - SONGS FROM THE CRACKLING ATANOR - Italian Neo-Prog, with a strong case of Genesis/Marillion-itis, that despite the great playing, pristine production and lavish cover/booklet artwork, I'm finding it very hard to love it. FAR too many lyrics/words crammed in by a mumbling vocalist. Will stick with it :/

2. IL GIARDINO ONIRICO - PERIGEO - Stunning instrumental atmospheric space-rock, early 70's Pink Floyd-influenced with some heavier moments here and there. Nick (Progbythyname) and I were ranting about this a few pages back, check it out on Youtube. Just a wonderful album.

3. ....... I'll get back to you lol!

Guys, I wonder what you make of this track:

CAPSICUM RED - PATETICA:

To my ears, what a missed opportunity! What the crap is up with the mixing?!? If all the instruments had been mixed at a consistent level, this could have been really good! I still like it, but that mix lets it down so badly! The bass has a nice thick chunky sound to it, and the average production/recording sound actually gives this track a bit of grit, but the mixing fails the band :/

Michael, that was my biggest RPI dissapointment. I simply couldn't hear the music!  The version I had was one of the worst sounding discs of recent memory.  And I can't remember what version I had, definitely a jewel case though.
...that moment you realize you like "Mob Rules" better than "Heaven and Hell"

No, standard jewelcase for me too Jim. I was lucky to win it by fluke off Ebay for a couple of bucks, but still feeling a bit ripped off

Pierre, does the album sound better on that SHMCD?

Seriously, the whole damn thing just needs a total overhaul...

They're all good ones with RDM and QVL being particular favourites of mine. For me this week on the RPI front I'm enjoying....

1. Psycho Praxis - Echoes From The Deep
2. Il Paese  Dei Balocchi - S/T
3. Nuova Idea - Clowns

That one sounds interesting from the description Pierre! A CD release at all?

I'm very curious to hear the two long tracks called `The journey in the world above', followed by `The journey in the world below'!

Hey, I just won this off Ebay last night for a few dollars, saw it listed on the Archives and took a chance, hoping it might be a nice Xian album, despite the one poor rating on here. Has anyone heard it?
