We have had some sunny days with maximum temperatures of 6°-8°C and minimum temperatures just below zero. Fine weather with little wind, so I did a 76 km (47.5 mi) bike ride last Sunday. Today it was grey with a bit of drizzle. The next days will be colder and dry with a cold wind from the northeast.

Time for an update: Last week we had some fine spring weather with lots of sun in the first half of the week and temperatures running up to almost 17°C on Wednesday.
Now the winter has returned with temperatures just above 0°C. Yesterday a record has been broken: for the first time in the history of weather recording (since 1901) it has rained constantly during all 24 hours within a day (requirement: at least 0.1 mm precipitation within 10 minutes). This record has been measured on the main weather station in the Netherlands (not too far from my home).

It's very difficult to capture mild rain falling in the air, so ... : The temperature? Pf! Tolerable. All you need is a jacket. Edited by Dayvenkirq - April 04 2013 at 17:00 |

The winter has returned on the 10th of March and has not been away since then: dry and cold, with the last decade of March as the coldest since 1901 at least. The only day with a normal temperature (10°C) was the 18th. The temperatures are expected to rise above 10°C on Monday or Tuesday.

The period from 21 to 31 March. In our meteorological statistics, a month is divided into three decades (1-10, 11-20 and 21-end). |

Right now: sunny, 20°C and windy (strong breeze/near gale).
The strongest wind we’ve had since we moved here was in January 2004. The Greeks said it was a hurricane, but I’m not sure about that. Anyway, a friend of ours was weather-bound in a restaurant for several hours and drank six bottles of wine. |
