I have  never heard of them.

I love cherry tomatoes though.

They basically taste like tomatoes that aren't ripe at all, and they have a weird slightly sweet taste.  Often found in salads.

I like them because you can put them in a salad without having to slice them.  I can only guess as to why the OP cares enough about this to start a poll though.

I love those things!  Little bite-sized tomatoes is all they are, and I'm quite fond of tomatoes.

To me, that is cherry tomatoes. Possible cherry plum  tomatoes, or mini plum or whatever they call  them.

These are delicious, with an important caveat - I grow my own.

Storebought tomatoes are disgusting regardless of the type.

Homegrown tomatoes are ok, the only ones I really care for though are the orange ones.

Ian - cherry tomatoes are the ones that are more spherical, not oblong

Baby Plum Tomatoes, the ones I have had are good.  Most supermarket tomatoes are tasteless.

I agree, the supermarket ones do tend to taste like newly cleaned windows.

Not to sidetrack this thread completely, yet here I go anyways..... I remember my childhood bedroom was situated so as my fathers tomato plants would climb inside my window whenever I opened it. The garden literally jumped in with all it's presence. Each summer my room smelled wonderfully fragrant of sun baked tomato.

They are good for shutting the dog up and making the front door stick to the outside door.

But then again...I'm not really a tomato guy.

In the UK these are called cherry plum, baby plum or pomodorino (as plum tomatoes are also known as Pomodoro or Italian Tomatoes, the full Italian name would be Pomodorino del Piennolo).

I know they are a marketting ploy, a trendy fad, terribly kitch and stuplidly overpriced, but I really like Tomberries.

So they are like small plum tomatoes? Plum tomatoes are my favourite, so I’m sure I would love the baby variety (I’ve never seen it; I buy ordinary plum tomatoes at the marked whenever they’re available).

My point is that they are not called that here. They are baby plum  tomatoes as far as I  can tell.

edit. Thanks Dean. Got there first.Smile

I haven't noticed  supermarket tomatoes tasting any worse that greengrocer. I  never buy in  winter because they are awful. The best imo are summer imported from around the med.
