I haven't used sountfont for years because my old computer had problems playing them. Now I have a new computer though, so maybe I'll try it out again.

I have a document with notes on soundfonts... The sounds are some years old, not "new" sounds . I think I found most soundfonts on http://www.sf2midi.com

Livekit7                                                                  good drums, but they have room reverb
Squirebass                                                           very good but low mix level

Buenastratmarshall                                           electric guitar sound with vibrato

Analogueage                                                      Synth -  I have just written "several good sounds"
”Bladerunner”                                                    (oberheim se-1 lead).

Stefan’s Cathedral Pipe Organ                         church organ sounds. Number 51 was a good basic church organ sound
                                                                               with soft character

But using soundfonts wasn't very rewarding for me, not only because I had playback problems with the computer, but because sounds were often imperfect - uneven mix levels, uneven sampling, effects added that you cant remove, notes being panned to the left and right....   But if you find something useable it's great.
