I just watched some DVDs that featured these bands.

I was amazed at Le Orme in their Live in Pennsylvania, especially the entire Felona e Sorona album.

But Prog Exhibition showed just how incredible PFM really are. Their Live in Japan is amazing as well. They are just phenomenal entertainers.

Are you talking about the Rome concert with Ian Anderson as a guest? I've been meaning to get that one after I read some really good review for it in hebrew.

For once, let's forget the famous Suite Per Il Sigl K to listen to the second part of the album : E brutto sentirsi vecchi and Hai visto, the two wonderfull closing songs.

Pierre, I was thinking of grabbing a recent LP reissue of that Duello Madre album, I've heard the album before and really like it, just don't own a proper copy yet. I could go for something just like that at the moment :)

Hey, I've tried to get into that Jumbo DNA album you mentioned above, but I only seem to get about half way, then get really sick of the guy's voice!

So chances are I've barely ever heard those final two songs because I switch it off before I get to them!

Duello madre is fantastic, one fo the best of the italian Jazz Prog of these years. It took me time to accept the voice of the Jumbo guy. Try the third album  : VIETATO AI MINORI DI18 ANNI. I've started here  .... and just for this :

Yes, really a great show. PFM was phenomenal! Banco was pretty good too, as were Le Orme (sans drummer de Rossi, so they're listed under a different name).

Osanna was great too--so much energy--and one of their guests was Gianni Leone from Balletto di Bronzo, also David Jackson from VdGG.

Others in that show: The Trip (can't believe how well Furio can still play!) and  RRR (can't believe how well Regoli can still sing!) were both very good.

Newer bands La Maschera di Cera, Abash, Periferia del Mondo, and Abash held their own as well, all with some really nice moments.

Try to find it if you can, it's a wonderful concert.

Ditto on Duello.

I am in the minority in thinking that DNA is the best of the Jumbo albums. And I think Alvaro's voice gives lots of color and character. Don't get me wrong, I still prefer Di Giacomo and Tagliapietra to just about anyone, but I still love Alvaro.

Thanks again, Pierre

Love Jumbo! Their third "Vietato..." is seriously one of the best RPI albums I've heard, totally progressive effort, so unique and diverse. Alvaro Fella's vocals are definitely hard to get into, but I like them.

Is anyone familiar with their 1983 horrible album?

^ That's a good album, pretty interesting. I don't think it was ever issued on CD.

I don't know the 1983 album, but I do have the compilation Passing By. If the 1983 album is anything like Passing By, I'll pass by, thank you!

The live album from 1990 is pretty good, though. I have the Anthology DVD, but I haven't watched it yet.

By the way, Il Babau e I Maledetti Cretini have a new album out, available through BTF. Listen to some clips, it sounds great!
