Hows about trying this game - you are allowed to replace one band member in your post. Cut and paste the band in the post before yours and then replace a band member. Watch the evolution of prog!

Lets start with (for example) Dream Theater.

The 'other' can be another band member - any instrument or another vocalist.

Guitar - John Petrucci (Dream Theater)
Bass - John Myung (Dream Theater)
Keyboards - Jordan Rudess (Dream Theater)
Drums - Mike Mangini (Dream Theater)
Vocals - James LaBrie (Dream Theater)
Other -

Replace one band member - or add someone. You might want to say why you picked your new band member.

okay, i'll bite Smile

Guitar - John Petrucci (Dream Theater)
Bass - John Myung (Dream Theater)
Keyboards - Jordan Rudess (Dream Theater)
Drums - Mike Mangini (Dream Theater)
Vocals - Tim Smith (Cardiacs)

Not that I don't love Mr. Labrie, but I'd love to see what would happen having a mad genius like Tim backed up by such astounding musicians.

(get well soon Tim!)

Wow! John Petrucci was last member of DT to remain and keyboards was replaced by saxaphone

Feel free (hopefully) to get a keyboards player back in - in my mind prog requires synths/organ etc etc
