What offends you about it? That there are child-abusing religious cults out there or that someone tells the world about them?
I know Steven Wilson has said that he doesn't condone those kind of things but I feel that that is too strong a subject matter to write about.

Someone has to write about them.  If no one exposes the works of darkness, then who will fight them?  You're entitled to choose what music you do and don't want to listen to (and I quite understand not being fond of that particular song; even though I'm not familiar with it, the subject matter as described here doesn't exactly sound pleasant).  But I admire any artist who has the courage to stand up and say something about the evil in this world.

Censorship is a cancer to art. i say bring on the offense, and make me feel something, and make me think about something. The fact that you're so offended simply means that Wilson and Waters did there jobs as genuine artists.

An album being a bit offensive to you isn't Controversial with a capital "C"

Don't forget "The Incident" by Porcupine Tree. That song is a bit offensive to me.

My vote wold go to King Crimson since Adrian Belew took over the vocals.  I am going by the assumption that he also writes the lyrics.  I think the odd thing is that Belew really can sing. It's odd because a lot of the lyrics are so obtuse that they sound like nonsense.Confused

I think Peter Hammill is the best lyricist of all time. I also like Peter Gabriel, Daniel Gildenlow and Thom Yorke
