I can't help here as I don't have that one.

I do actually have that album, somewhere.  I'll try to dig it out tonight.  What's the best way to get you the files?
Cheers pal I've sent you my email in a private message.
It's not as if I haven't bought the copyright....I just have a CD in two pieces - and a ebay seller who has got an open dispute to contend with.....God knows how the royal mail managed to snap a CD in two I have had busted jewel cases in about 50% of my purchases though - costs me a fortune buying replacement cases - the royal mail obviously have shares in that company LOL

No problem.  I've had surprisingly few situations like that....occasionally a cracked, but usable jewel case, but never broken CD.  Though my girlfriend recently had a check sent as payment to her credit card company ripped completely in half!  She send another check after that, and it too came back ripped in half!  Both of these were the fault of the US Mail, not the credit card company.  The post office actually just sent the ripped in half envelopes (placed inside a new one) on the credit card company.  Unbelievable.

Of course, I told her it was their subtle way of telling her that everyone pays on line now and doesn't use checks anymore Wink

I've ordered many CDs online and only maybe 1 or 2 have come in the mail with a small crack on the front (usually) or back cover, maybe the spine too, but the CD is usually in perfect shape. One thing that bothers me is sometimes I'll get a double album, but it's in the single jewel case that opens up for both discs, and either the joint that holds it together is snapped, or the spindle in the middle is all chopped up so the CD itself can't stay in place, like my copy of Flower Power....

heh, that's funny.  Both Space Revolver and Flower Power were like that for me.  I replaced both cases with cases from doubles I didn't care for (which I think were Dream Theater and Enchant).  This was back in 1999 or so.

I think long boxes is just a tad before my time, but I remember double CD cases, like my old copy of The Wall. I much prefer how double, or triple albums come in, as big as a single case.

I have a few of the double cases - my original copies of seconds out and the lamb have such cases.....
I really like the plasticked/cardboard cases - these are cool....

Roland, DM, Rushfan,

thanks for the recommendations.  i know i've seen somewhere that harvest of souls is a favorite epic.  checked out the sound clips from seventh house.  will check that out and the other tunes.  thanks.  looking forward to getting into this.  i already find them more inviting than marillion.

Zuma, IQ is a great band.  I've been a fan since before they released their debut album.  I actually have numbered copy no.12 of the first pressing of their debut albumApprove.  Seconding The Seventh House here Thumbs Up though, my favourite cd of theirs.  Subterranea is great too and I like Frequency more than TomWink.  From the 80s catalogue you'll not do better than The Wake, that is one helluvanalbum.

Looks like I turned up a bit late for the duck pun party yesterday.  I wouldn't have been able to make it anyway, the missus was pecking me head.

Incidentally the ICF and headhunters were two gangs of football hooligans from the 1980s.  Not that I would know from personal experience.

very cool.  it's neat to follow a band from inception to popularity.  i was lucky to do that with phish.  now look where they are.

yes, from what i've sampled, they seem to be pretty consistent with material and production.  i love the original singers voice and the melodies are quite moving.  probably going to bite the bullet and get seventh house.  i kind of see them as one of the top three of neoprog...pallas, marillion, iq...i guess pendragon and arena too.  haven't really mined that territory.

btw, is that movie Hooligans accurate.  i had no knowledge of that phenomenon until a friend highly recommended the film.  interesting and sad.

while i'm at it, just watched The Master.  very peculiar yet compelling film.
Not seen the fillum "Hooligans" - but from my experience any film about hooligans of the 70's/80's is fairly wide of the mark, mostly sensasionalised garbage. A lot of people claim to have been in "Firms" and most who do so obviously wern't (First rule of fight club etc......) The fact is that a lot of the bravado tales of 10 running 100... are just that...in terms of hoolie clashes the numbers win every time.....and Leeds/Millwall are the indisputed top-dogs because they have the biggest number of brain dead morons who are probably all direct decendants from Neanderthal man....
You should get "Ever" - Beter than Sevebth house in my book.....

Barney-

it's called Green Street Hooligans.  came out in '05

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0385002/

thanks for the info and the recommendations.  IQ has a lot of alblums!

btw, are the IQ albums with the other singer just horrible?
No! the IQ with Menel have some classic IQ on them - especially tracks- Common ground, Wurensch, Human Nature and Nostalgia/Coming apart at the seams - all great tunes.
See that film - it's crap - isn't the hobbit in it as an American recruit - If the head hunters were all like him - I'd have run them myself......

i like the skinny cd cases too.  i still have a few fat cases too.  the long boxes were interesting.  their only uses was to fill the bins that used to hold vinyl.  i wish there was some way to get lossless audio (on disc or download) and the gatefold sleeve.  i have no use for vinyl, but i love the artwork.  Banks of Eden would be so cool to have.  love that artwork!

concerning IQ, i listened to Seventh House last night on spotify.  started out good, but i just kind of quit listening.  i can see how y'all like them.  they sound really good and their long form writing is great.  i'll try again when i can focus more.

I admit, I'm not crazy about Banks as a whole.  However, that is in the context of the rest of their catalog and being a fan since 1999.  As a standalone album, I consider it good, but not essential.  Rising is a good track, like most of Jonas' compositions, but I find it a bit clinical myself (again, like most of his recent work).

yeah, Jonas nows how to play the game.  ear candy.  i love Rising Imperial and For the Love of Gold.  one of the best choruses by them.

btw, there's a new DT DVD coming out.  looks really good.  i can't wait to see Mangini up close.  his drum solo on that last tour was awesome, and i'm not a fan of the obligatory drum solo.  i am bummed that no DVD has come out from the black clouds tour.  i'd love to have a professional video of Count of Tuscany live..  i can see why they didn't put it out though.

btw, did they ever consider ousting JLB at some point?  seems like i read that somewhere.

Hey Tom (Ozric),

Welcome to our little neck of the internet.  I think Craig mentioned this above, but yeah, Raising the Imperial is fantastic and Jonas Reingold's fretless work is phenomenal on that one.  The whole CD is enjoyable to my ears but yeah, that's a good one.

Here's hoping that they write another CD sooner rather than later, five years is a long wait.

I know there were rumors on multiple occasions.  I think James has lost some range as he got older, then he had throat surgery a while back.  Put the two of those together and yeah, it was swirling around the interwebs.   To the best of my knowledge, it was just a rumor though.

One of the good things about the last album, was that his vocals didn't annoy me at all Wink  So it wouldn't surprise me if they got rid of him now LOL

right!  that's the way things seem to go down in this world!

as far as new TFK, i bet we see a new album this year or next.  probably a new karmakanic and new agents of mercy.  i mean, has roine ever gone a year without releasing something since TFK's inception?  i need to do some research on that.

I hear you and I agree on Black Clouds. I quite like the last 3 DT albums even though they're all kinda safe. Dare I say by the numbers? But I'm afraid we're out of luck with this one. Unless they do a mashup like in Chaos in Motion the set is going to be something like this:

http://www.setlist.fm/setlist/dream-theater/2012/estadio-luna-park-buenos-aires-argentina-2bdc0c7a.html

or this

http://www.setlist.fm/setlist/dream-theater/2012/estadio-luna-park-buenos-aires-argentina-73dc127d.html

Never heard about them losing James, are you sure that's not wishful thinking from the guys who spread the rumours? After all many consider him DT's weakest link.

But DT wouldn't be DT without James' vocals.

I was very disappointed in not getting a BC&SL tour DVD, especially because I'm sure we would have gotten the full performance of the 12-Step Suite included. There are rumors we might get a performance of The Count of Tuscany on the new DT DVD on a bonus disc since they performed that song, along with The Great Debate, during the summer 2011 portion of the ADTOE tour.

See now that sounds good! I'd love to get a good live version from the great debate.
And James goes with DT like bread with peanut butter.

Interesting, I'd love to have The Count of Tuscany live on DVD. But, forgive me if I'm wrong, doesn't Score have a live video of The Great Debate on the second disc?
