Have you heard the dark side of the moon album in surround yet? supposedly as close to the original quad concept that they composed it for. I bought an SACD player just to listen to that album.

Daria, Queen was the VERY first band I ever got into! Of course, I knew all the `greatest hits' of the band, but by chance a friend had records of Queen 1, Queen 2, Night at the Opera, etc, and when I listended to them, I had never heard such fascinating and involving `pop' music, it felt so daring and unique! Stuff like `Great King Rat', `Ogre Battle' etc blew me away!
That of course lead to Pink Floyd, to Genesis, etc, and so Queen really got things rolling for me!
Like I mentioned, I don't listen to them nearly as much these days, but I've repurchased all the remastered CD's over the years, and the band really means so much to me!
I see :) yes, Queen also still has a very special place in my heart :) I too think the atmosphere of their first albums is very special :)

Daria, my guilty admission, the only Queen album I've never heard (or owned) was the `Flash' soundtrack! Is it worth looking into? Honestly, I really should have checked it out by now, but I always decided against it!

Welcome Daria. From Ukraine, you might be aware of the artist Roksana (Vikaluk). 'Barwy' was recorded live in Poland (my birth country) and is some nice ethereal heavenly folk music
Hi lucas! Nice to see someone from East Europe No, I did not know her, must check her out ! I sadly rather rarely come to Ukraine now, so I am more aware of Austrian culture than Ukrainian lol, which is also a bit sad... thank you for the tip :)!!

I always assumed the `Flash' soundtrack would compliment the movie well, but wouldn't stand as an album on it's own? Sigh.....OK, promise I'll snap it up when I see it cheaper next time! Thanks!

Welcome to PA Daria, I really like your singing, somehow reminds me of the great Emila Derkovska from Quidam. Keep on the good work and enjoy PA!
thank you very much, I'm very happy that you like it and very nice to meet you ! Interesting, must check her out ! It's funny , I discovered female prog and prog metal singers much time later (only a year ago or so), so my influences come from rather other genres... from vocal point of view I love soul, lyrical music and I always have loved Freddie Mercury's and Robert Plant's powerful singing^^... I'm also taking classical singing lessons from my mother who is an opera singer will try my best to keep up the work ! Even plan to go to conservatory or taking courses^^

I was born in Przemysl, maybe you know, it's in the South-East of Poland, 30 km from the frontier with Ukraine.
Austria has a lot of excellent composers (Schubert, Berg, Mozart, Scoenberg, Bruckner, Mahler, and one that is terribly overshadowed, Rebay).
Also some dark krautrock in the band called Paternoster.

Hello and welcome prog girl Daria, nice to have another lady in the house! I enjoyed the "Struggle", the vocals are nice full and rich, very good!
I am a big fan of the Queen II album, Father to Son (Zepplin like but majestic), White Queen (beauty and majestic), March of the Black Queen (dark and majestic), and the Fairy Fellers Master Stroke (just naughty and a tad funky)...anyway, I digress...glad you are here.
