Just for that, you need to come back with a proper Italian prog song ASAP!

That's your detention homework/punishment!

Hihihihi Michael, true I am naughtyBig smile errrmm... Unhappy sorry.

Ok I will post a none conventional rock progressivo Italiano track. This is a band that is quite interesting because besides adding that operatic orchestral feel (which Italian prog is known for) they have Jazz elements too. Female vocals not my fav but this one is fab tho' it's sexy too!

To me his work is like traveling to an amazing country (like Italy!) and then staying in the 5 star tourist hotel.  It's gorgeous and perfect, and yet almost removed from the experience you'd get by venturing off on your own and staying as a guest in a village where a feisty lady runs a boarding house.  She cooks the meals, her grandkids drive you crazy, but you feel as if you had an authentic vacation rather than riding the tourist busses and going back to your luxury chain hotel by the  airport.  I wonder if that makes any sense whatsoeverLOL

Given that, I respect the projects very much for their quality and success.  They help bring a wider group of fans to RPI with their success.

I know what you're saying Jim, the Spock's Beard of Italian prog. Wink

Wow, I rarely see Litto mentioned. The one of his I liked the best is El Vendedor de Promesas. Nice keyboard work on that one. It may (or may not) appeal the most to proggers.

Sonia, you scored a `Pass mark' on your proper RPI submission exam, your detention is cancelled!

Now you can go back to....I don't know, cheerleading or something, some other school cliche!

"bounce bounce jump happy bounce" - That's the spirit, you're getting there, you're on the right track lol!

Hoho, better yet, how about cheerleading to some choice Italian prog?! That's the challenge you've been set!

Hola, Sonia, pasas mas tiempo aqui o en PE? LOL I just did a deep search and it looks like soundfiles for EVdP have been taken down from Viajero Inmovil (the label that reissued it in a digipack with a different cover and bonus tracks) as well as Litto's Myspace and Last.fm. I'm not sure why, but I see samples on YT and other sites for Muerte en el Catedral, Fuera del Cielo and Bazar de Los Milagros, his other three proggiest albums. Weird. Vendedor is definitely the best, IMO.

Jim, great news about the Hero reissue, really undemanding and pleasant, a lovely album! Wish it was on that Mini LP CD packaging, I'm really starting to like that for the Italian albums!

Hey guys long time no see ! Big smile
I just had to talk about the new La Maschera Di Cera album because i'm sure if any of you saw the album cover you'd be saying like i was "Hey that looks pretty similar to Le Orme's "Felona & Serona". Well there's a reason for that. The band decided to basically continue the concept of that record, so this is really "Felona & Sorona Part II". Of course they aren't calling it that but they have done what i don't think any other band has tried to do. I mean think of the band Astra continuing with the  concept of Dark Side Of The Moon , or the Zeuhl band Setna continuing with Magma's MDK.
La Mascera Di Cera felt that Le Orme's 1973 album didn't have a real conclusion to that universal story so they are bringing a conclusion through their album.
For me these things excite but at the same time i think this band has massive stones to even try to do this. And like the two examples in other genres i gave, will this open up the gates with other bands trying to take a classic 70's album and continue on it ? And what do we think of this ?

Hey John....I'm not all that excited about it as I mentioned here yesterday.  But I understand the release will appeal to a much wider swatch of prog fans than the typical under-the-radar bands I personally enjoy.  So for that reason I am excited of the prospects.  I expect we may see that album in many best of lists next year.

As for the large stones needed to continue Felona......indeedLOL
