As I am sure you are most painfully aware, there has not been a Cheese Rolling thread on this site.  Up until now!  Now we all have a place to put our thoughts and comments regarding the noble sport of Cheese Rolling.

Enjoy!

I like when people chase the cheese and fall down the hill. It is great hilarity.

Sadly, the noble art of cheese rolling has fallen foul in recent years of the less than noble phenomenon of Health & Safety.

Such nonsense has no place within the strictures of following a Double Gloucester speedily down a 2/2 hill, preferably whilst drunk on cider

I was going to ask if people actually eat the cheeses after.  My initial web browsing did not provide the answer...

^ Oh-so hilarious ... but oh-so freaking dangerous. I wouldn't want to be a part of that 'cause I'm a wuss who doesn't have health insurance.

Why don't we have this in Denmark? We are crazy about cheese and AHHHHHH that's it! We don't actually have any hills, so there you go....

Maybe cheese fitness, where you push a (preferably) round hardy cheese towards a goal line some 42 kilometres down the road. That'll work.

Some of them aren't even related to each other

I have it on good authority from my wife who's attended more than one of these events (also hails from Gloucestershire stock), that the 'Cheese' is actually wooden, but the winner is awarded a real one.

Ah...a cheese marathon. I doubt if there is any place on this globe where a round cheese could roll that far, hills or not.

You know, if cheese is mozzarella, and we throw in some good tomatoes and basil we could have a
