After some electronic jazz-rock tour de force, a lesson of melody with the late Kevin Gilbert.
With Cluster, we wander in the dreamy world of electronic music. Some funk-rock madness with Praxis. The crazy world of Zappa ! Could be perfect for a video game lol Katana, a very good Iron Maiden inspired band. Some tracks are in a more power metal vein, but overall the Maiden influence is very strong. Dio-era Black Sabbath was never better than on stage. This track from their fabulous 'live evil' is full of mystery. Mike Oldfield's soundtrack to 'the killing fields' is fabulous and the track selected here is perfectly recreating the overall atmosphere of this movie. A breath of fresh air with Rick Wakeman's small piano piece. The late Tadeusz Nalepa and his wife Mira in a psychedelic mood with their band Breakout. Harmonia follows in the steps of Cluster, spacey and dreamy electronic music. Malombo are a world-fusion band from South Africa, little known outside the boundaries of this country. They are in the same league as Cymande, Osibisa, Mandrill or fellow countrymen of Assagai. Action Dead Mouse play instrumental math rock, but deserve more recognition. Michael Sadler, Saga's frontman, performs some very nice AOR-oriented music on his album Clear, which track "one minute" is taken from. The excellent drummer Chris Frazier (Steve Vai's Flex-Able) is featured. Som Imaginario with their self-tiled album play psychedelic tropicalia. Some more psychedelia follows with Sweetwater, a female-fronted band. Jeffferson Airplane comes close as a comparison, but the instrumentation is richer with Sweetwater. Tales from Canterbury with National Health, starting in a pastoral mood (flute and electric piano) then going on in a jazz-fusion mood. jazz-rock meets breakcore with Gary Willis. Jef Lee Johnson & associates : frenetic jazz-rock, an ode to the times of psychedelic rock and early fusion. The program ends on a a lighter note with hungarian folk band Kolinda. one-man band Chroma Key, with ex-DT keyboardist Kevin Moore. Colorblind, a very nice ambient-pop tune.

"learning to live", one of the best DT epic, with its Maiden-esque outro.

You're welcome Thanks for your other comments. I agree to the intro of Sanitarium. Somehow it's so powerful and emotional in its simplicity. W.r.t. Paatos, I think they've become a bit more poppy and upbeat with their latest album from which this was the opener. To be honest, I prefer their older work, from which I've done some songs in previous shows already (Sensor, Happiness and the most beautiful of all, Téa). And the Talk Talk song was taken from London 1986, which is unfortunately quite hard to get hold of. It's a fantastic live album, not in the last place because the tone is so much different from the already excellent studio versions. Then a new live album (with recordings from the same period) was released recently. Again, thanks for listening and commenting, it's really nice to read some feedback.

Is that a beatbox on the talk Talk's song recorded live ?
I didn't know they have some live material available for purchase. So much emotion in these vocals, and that typical ambient-pop mood, close to the reflective songs of The Blue Nile.

that Paatos song was very good, I was not impressed by this band the first time I listened to them, maybe they evolved with time and I might appreciate better their more recent production. |

Hello Casartelli, thanks for "quoting" me in your announcement ! Diversity is the key to tolerance and it prevents from getting bored Metallica is airing, believe it or not the intro to "sanitarium" always brings tears to my eyes. I think it's one of the best in the story of metal.
