According to how you are acting it seems rather personal.
Maybe you don't know what exactly constitutes a personal question. It's not the behavior in general.
Now you go on by attacking me, how low can you get. Can I ask you something since you are the really stubborn one
I'm not attacking you. I'm just confused about your replies ... and questions.

^ For instance: how can one tell whether a question is personal or not just from another person's behavior?

Someone just answer the question that I want to ask??? Maybe you'll answer it, why is that KC is so revered on this site but yet seem to lose  in mostly all the polls???

I would guess they lose in polls because they are a lot less accessible than some other popular prog acts like Genesis, Yes, JT, Floyd, Rush, etc. But the reason they are so revered is because their influence, innovation, and overall importance to music is unquestionable. It's the same reason I would say bands like Genesis, Rush, and Pink Floyd tend to be really popular in polls, just a lot more accessible prog with a wider appeal.

It's not the topic or the questions themselves that affect my behavior. It's the manner in which you lead the arguments.

Thank you clarifying, that's all I wanted just because I don't like this band much doesn't give Dayvenkirq the right to say the things he says. However I think you saying Prog is accessible is wrong because there's nothing accessible about it

in the grand scheme of things, yes, prog is not a very accessible genre, but it still has some bands that are accessible. There's a reason Pink Floyd and Rush are on the radio but King Crimson and Gentle Giant are not.

to say  "oh you nicked the crims an average band"or something like that because it's my personal opinion and I know pretty darn well what they are going for but it just doesn't interest me, that's the end of the line. You cannot impose your opinions on others and that's what your basically saying and doing, THE END!!!!!

I'm not imposing my opinion; I'm simply presenting merits of their music that invalidate your claim that KC are an average band. They started prog. They pretty much opened the gates to prog metal, and they developed their own brand of New Wave prog. It's the facts, the merits, that invalidate your claim. It's not an opinion.

They started Prog, I guess you are unaware of Traffic

^ I'm aware of Traffic. But I don't remember them using a Mellotron or a saxophone. Traffic were more like a jazzy version of The Animals. Just no symph prog elements. That doesn't make them prog. That makes them proto-prog. Like The Who.

Yeah....I also said he is tiresome and close minded so I have no problem with that.  LOL  But if we are going to call for warnings just because somebody is irritating, then that is not a very, ahem, progressive attitude to have.

So let me get it straight is it the same thing to be close-minded and not like or prefer something???

It is not.  But you might as well quit pretending that that's all you do.  You scarcely show any interest in what other participants in a thread have to say and argue with them to establish that your opinion is better than others.  There is no point protesting that that's not what you intended because that's exactly how it comes across to us (and I am not alone in saying so).   For instance, I've backed you up in another comment on this thread and yet you pick on the one thing I said that you don't like so what does that tell you about your attitude.   In a discussion forum, you cannot just go on posting monologues and then seek shelter under the "It's my opinion" cop out.  People are going to respond to what you say so a little care over the choice of your words and showing the willingness to listen to another person won't hurt.  Well, it might hurt your ego but that's a small price to pay (I hope). Wink

Another example of your close minded rejection of another person's statement (and yet you want all the respect in the world for your own opinions!).    Ever heard Money?  And ever heard Fracture?   Quick, which is the more accessible song of the two?   Is there any KC track as accessible as Another Brick in the Wall or Spirit of Radio?   It's just an observation, to say that a band is more accessible than another doesn't detract from it.   Don't you think it would be better to consider a statement before jumping to dismiss it?

Seriously, attempting to deny that Floyd or Rush are more accessible than KC is just silly.
