True. The best price, as often. BTW, you were right for You tube. I was able to listen to the album in a different way. Big modern RPI sound.

Pierre, you just missed out - here was a vinyl copy on Ebay UK from back in October! 16 bids later, someone is the lucky owner! That track you linked sounded great, lots of cool instrumental play! Ebay - I Romans Edited by Aussie-Byrd-Brother - December 30 2012 at 15:54 |

Hey, here's a link to what has become one of my favourite RPI pop singles! What an upbeat and charming catchy pop number! Beautiful dreamy melodies, confident lead vocal and lovely shimmering keys in the second half! Always makes me smile, always puts me in a good mood - and always delivers, unlike the actual Gruppo 2001 full studio album!
Gruppo 2001 - Messaggio (1972) OK, so it's not a super prog blowout, but really lovely! |

Pierre, I find the Gruppo 2001 album a bit disappointing, but with a couple of stunning tracks, such as the opener right here:
Gruppo 2001 - 01) Maggio Now THAT is a killer RPI title!! So much energy, it makes me want to bounce around the room right now! |

Excellent ! My favorite song of the album.
But what's wrong with disppointement ? This is the essence of life. Another disappointement : LA BOTTEGA DELL ARTE 1975. That song makes my dickrl friends fall into my wings And with this one, they believe I am King Arthur |

Pierre, that `Cynthia' track from La Bottega Dell Arte is amazing!!!! What album is it from? It's kind of like a ballad, but booming and scary and EPIC!! Like a dream and a nightmare...many voices in it's head!
`Camelot' is great too! I don't think I've ever heard of this band before! They sound wonderful! Which album should I start with? Are they available on CD? |

Michael (and all), I have been researching the Biglietto per I'Infernio album you referred me to. I read some reviews that mention the sound quality issue, which will not prevent me from getting it, but I have seen on Amazon and iTunes a 2012 Remastered edition of this album, but I did not see any CD availability on it. This 2012 version has an extended version of L'amico suicida added.Sometimes remasters are not done that well depending on who and how they do it, anybody heard anything on the remaster?

Jim, if you're talking of the first album, there is the recent BTF edition. which contains (like Todd said) the one minuite extra time.

Yes Pierre, that is the one. I missed Todd's response the first time and just read it, that must be what they are calling the 2012 remastered version on those sites. Thanks!

Jim/AEP, I don't think I'll be much help here, I just dug my Biglietto CD off the shelf, and it's a standard jewelcase release, with the details `Repertoire TRI 005' on it. No idea if it's a remaster or not, even the CD booklet is very slim on information and just contains the lyrics.
As for the so-called `sound quality' issues, I think that was only due to the poorer production facilities they used at the time, but it certainly is not enough to detract from the actual music. I've absolutely loved that album for years, I still do, everytime I hear it and get more pumped up and excited by it! One of my total favourites....then again, I wonder how much I'm throwing that praise around these days! Edited by Aussie-Byrd-Brother - December 31 2012 at 01:23 |

Hey Pierre, although I LOVE the cover, I wasn't quite impressed enough with the music to buy it. It had a vinyl reissue a little while back, and I was able to hear some of those Youtube clips, but I wasn't so impressed that I needed to buy it.
But as you said, not a masterpiece yet still alright! |

Happy New Year too Pierre! Hope yours will be better than mine, I'm at work here right now!
Here's hoping that 2013 delivers some new RPI bands, some new quality albums by existing RPI bands and a few reissued rarities! Better be paying attention BTF! |
