Larry Reinhardt  died  this year as well and now
Lee Dorman...for them 2012  really was the end of the world...
I use to hate this...Angry...when somebody die just a few short days before Christmas (and those end of the year celebrations)... It won't be a funny christmas for his family Cry... it still just too fresh to get over it...

 It's rather exceptional to be a part of two great bands ... Lee Dorman was not a member of Iron Butterfly on their 1st album but join just before the recording of the massive "In a gadda da vidda" LP...this album and "Metamorphosis" are rather essential.

+ then he formed "Supergroup" Captain Beyond and recorded 2 excellent albums...
At 32 already he had made his most essential recordings and tours...

I will take more attention to his basslines the next time i hear one of those albums ...Lee get though the ultimate door bye bye now... rest in peace ...this is the end of the show  Clap (wake up and standing ovation) ...
"Come into the garden, It's magical trees
Dapple the sun as they sway with each lazy breeze;
They'll set your mind at ease" ...

(the 1st of 5 verses of Carly Simon oniric 1971 song "the garden")

Captain Beyond was the first band I ever saw on the big rock & roll stage (backing up Alice Cooper's "School's Out" show, July 28, 1972 at the Chicago Amphitheater).

Therefore, Lee was the first major bassist I ever saw live, and Rhino the first guitarist.  I remember the show like yesterday.

Rest In Peace, friends.
