I thought it was pretty good. Some great funky jams on it. Much different than the Jimi Hendrix Experience. Also some really great guitar work, particularly on "Machine Gun".

Definitely different, they were three bluesman, much more bluesy earthy stuff and not psychedelic anymore. That what Jimi was trying to get to, it feels like he found his plays with those guys.

There is a 2CD set from those 4 shows at the Fillmore East, very essential stuff for anyone enjoying this album already.
2 more versions of that mighty Machine Gun you mentioned (my favorite track too) and every one is totally different.
I hope it will hit you like it hit me eventually. Cool
