Two wonderful tracks from `Sbrancho e le Purghe Ellectriche'!

Cerchi Una Ragione - I love the upfront loud bass throughout, funky guitars, ghostly organs and cool alternating male/female vocals! Nice little track!

Figlio - Cool sinister guitar, dark organ and heavy stomping intro. The main song is a bit pretty, but listen to that knockout wailing guitar solo in the middle and more of that awesome bass!

Hope you guys enjoy!

Interesting band Michael....that guy always has cool beat stuff.....I couldn't find much info on the band or a full album.  I also find it hard to believe that was '74, sounds earlier....good tunes guys!

Pierre, I recognize the front cover, but I've not heard the album yet. I'll give your samples a listen when I come back in a few hours.

What did you think of what you heard?

Jim, the others songs of the I nomadi 's album are not bad at all. Six long songs between 5 and 7 mn, with orchestra and some folk, brazilian or funky passages in the middle. For once a cheap CD.

I think it's one of the best albums ever came from Italy. And the only album by I NOMADI which could be considered progressive.
Songs of one of the greatest Italian singer-songwriters Francesco Guccini in beautiful arrangements by Vince Tempera (ex- IL VOLO, long time Guccini collaborator).

In my opinion essential for everyone interested in Italian rock music.

^ Jim, thanks. "I Nomadi interpretano Guccini" (1974) is one of my favourite albums. I think it's the case when even without knowing the language you can feel that what you listen to is poetry, not a some set of words.

I remember back then, in 2003, I chose this album in some record store in Rome because the cover attracted my attention. Only later I found out that it's painted by I Nomadi singer Augusto Daolio, who was a taletnted painter as well.

Warning, there is also an album called "I Nomadi cantano Guccini". It's a different beast, it has different cover and presents itself a compilation of early (big beat) versions of Guccini's songs and is far less interesting musically.

Jim and Andrea, terrific reviews on the front page of two wonderful RPI albums!

Pierre, that I Nomadi album sounds superb!! So grand and stirring, so much drama and build! Great charismatic vocals too.

I'm also interested in a CD of Jim's suggestion of the Emanuele Correani album! Much rather that than a download, I'm not much of a `data' collector!

Wow, hearing these, and I just bought the album `De De Lind - Io Non So Da Dove Vengo...' which has blown me away! Bit `late to the party' with that one, but I did get there!

Good week so far in RPI land for me!

Thanks Michael, I appreciate that.

We did find a CD vendor for Correani but it was a small outfit, none of us have used before so buyer beware.  The link is here....Todd is going to ask Greg if he can acquire some copies.

Very glad to hear you like De De, I've enjoyed that one too....think I have a mini of it.
