Tank, the legendary British Heavy Metal Band, will release their first ever live DVD later this year. The band featuring Mick Tucker and Cliff Evans on guitar alongside ex-Rainbow/Yngwie Malmsteen frontman Doogie White, ex-Bruce Dickinson bassist Chris Dale and former Tank member Steve Hopgood are recording tonight their live show in Stodola Club in Warsaw (Poland) which will make a main feature of the DVD.
Cliff Evans: “We're really looking forward to making our first ever Official Tank Live DVD. It's something we've wanted to do for a long time and gives us the chance to show our fans around the world what a Tank show is all about. The DVD will include old favourites such as 'This Means War', 'Echoes of a Distant Battle' and 'Power of the Hunter' plus future classics such as 'Judgement Day' and 'Phoenix Rising' plus many more. Get ready for 'War Machine Live!’ DVD.” Apart from the material recorded in Warsaw, the DVD will also feature their appearance at Metal Hammer Festival (10th August 2011 in Katowice, Poland), a warm-up gig in Chorzów (8th March 2012), interviews with band members and other bonus material. The legendary British band Tank
finish editing their first live DVD, which is planned to be released in
November. It’s their second release this year after the well-received studio
album “War Nation”.
The DVD entitled “War
Machine Live” will feature live performances filmed in Poland in 2011
and 2012 plus band interviews, on the road footage and the promo video for the
title song from their most recent album. Cliff Evans comments:
“This is our first official live DVD release so we wanted to make sure it
would appeal to all Tank fans, old and new. With such an extensive back catalog
to choose from, we think we've selected some real gems that all fans of real
British metal will enjoy. We've captured the raw energy that Tank is known for
in a performance that features classic tracks such as 'This Means War', 'Power
of the Hunter' and 'Honour and Blood' plus new fan favourites 'Judgement Day'
and 'Phoenix Rising'. Also featured is a live version of the new song 'Don't
Dream in the Dark' from our latest album 'War Nation'. With a band whose members
have previously played with such names as Ritchie Blackmore, Bruce Dickinson,
Yngwie Malmsteen, Paul Dianno and Michael Schenker you know with that kind of
pedigree the music is going to kick some serious ass.”
The release date of the DVD is
scheduled for November, 12th in Europe and December,
11th in USA (via MVD). Full details to be revealed soon.
TANK 2012
The band plan to promote the DVD on
a tour in Europe in December, 2012. Evans: “It's been a while since our last
shows earlier this year in Scandinavia and Poland so we're looking forward to
hitting the road again and making some noise. We'll be adding songs from our new
album ‘War Nation’ to the set plus a couple from ‘War Machine’ plus all the old
classics. The tour will be announced in the coming weeks.”
TANK have now been confirmed to appear at the ROCKHARD 2013 Festival in Germany. Tank - current line-up: Mick Tucker (guitars), Cliff Evans (guitars), Doogie White (vocals), Chris Dale (bass guitar) and Steve Hopgood (drums). Tank on-line: www.tankofficial.com

The first live DVD by the
legendary British band Tank is now available in Europe (in USA
on December, 11th). The material entitled “War Machine Live”
features live performances filmed in Poland in 2011 and 2012 plus band
interviews, on the road footage and more. As part of the promotion of the DVD
and their most recent album “War Nation”, Tank prepared a video for the title
song taken from the album. You can see the preview of the DVD on Metal Mind
Productions’ official channel on YouTube in THIS location.
The DVD was just reviewed by the
journalist of the UK’s website SonicAbuse. Here is a small
snippet of the review: “For those unhampered by an unhealthy resistance to
change, this DVD, filmed live at Poland’s awesome Stodola venue (in Warsaw),
offers up as clear an argument for Tank having continued as you could wish to
see. Stodola has a grand history of live recordings with acts such as Soulfly
and Therion having filmed shows there and Tank’s DVD is of a similar quality –
well filmed, with plenty of close-up shots and with pristine audio on the
soundtrack – but it’s Tanks self-assured performance that seals the deal. Doogie
fits in like he’s always been there, equally assured singing old material as he
is belting out highlights from the recent albums, while the band lay down a
mountainous wall of sound behind him. And speaking of highlights – this set is
absolutely filled with them: from the opening strains of ‘this means war’, the
perfect introduction to Tank’s riff-heavy metal machine; through the stunning
‘judgment day’ which is, with no word of a lie, as good as anything Iron Maiden
produced at their peak with its blistering solos, molten-metal chorus and
Doogie’s vital performance; to the closing drama of ‘the war drags ever on’,
tank’s performance is never anything less than exemplary and the band
comfortably belt out tracks from across their entire recorded history, making
sure that their legacy receives equal footing to their current crop of excellent
recordings.”

location.

The legendary British band
Tank have hired former DRAGONFORCE and current I AM I singer
ZP Theart to front the band for their upcoming shows while
TANK's most recent vocalist, Doogie White, is out on tour and recording in the
studio with Michael Schenker.
Mick Tucker, the band’s guitarist
comments: “We thrive on bringing fresh blood into the band. It gives us a
good kick in the ass and breathes new life into our songs. We’ve worked very
hard over the past few years and have been rewarded with the success of our ‘War
Machine’ and ‘War Nation’ albums and the release of our first official DVD ‘War
Machine Live’. Bringing in a world class vocalist like ‘ZP’ is a great privilege
for us and a real treat for metal fans.” Cliff Evans, guitars adds:
“Mick and me have been playing together for a long time. We know what we
want when it comes to making good music. We’re very proud of the albums we made
with Doogie’s and the response we received from the fans and press has proved
that we are a band that can deliver the goods when it comes to it. We’ve been
rehearsing with ZP this week and we can’t wait to get on stage and do what we do
best. Play British rock/metal the way it should be played.”
