Oh, and I thought I'd share this with you guys!

Claudio, Massimo and Maurizio were kind enough to sign my Cherry Five RPI CD!

Man, if ONLY I'd lugged along my Roller vinyl!!

Two guys my friend and I met after the show had some ultra rare Goblin `Deep Red' and `Suspiria' LP's with very different/alternative cover artwork signed, very lucky!

Jim, it was sold out!! Perhaps my friend that went could offer an actual estimated figure of the number of people, but there was both general admin standing area and seated sections, and both had a lot of people in them.

A wide range of ages too, which was quite confusing! I'm sure many were metal fans, horror film buffs, and a lot of an older crowd too. I did notice the odd prog fan once in a while, a few Hawkwind t-shirts, I was rocking my oh-so-trendy Gentle Giant t-shirt (trendy, me?! HA!).

I honestly had no idea what to expect from the crowd going to the show, I wondered if we were going to find a room full of painted Goth/horror fanatics, but I barely saw one!

Just found out that they're also performing a just announced concert at the cinema across the road from where we saw them, playing a live soundtrack for a screening of the `Suspiria' movie!!

Sold out! I had no idea about that one!

Pierre, I LOVE that album, it's actually quite upbeat! The only thing I don't like on it is that vocal track called (I think) `My Damned Sh*t'!

That album is so melodic and quite joyful!!

It reminds me in places of that modern French duo Air.

Air stole everything to Floyd and the Italians soundtracks' composers.

I like very much too LA VIA DELLA DROGA (77) :

Pierre, I came across `Droga' at a record fair years ago, and the vendor charged me a LOT of money for the CD, way more than it was worth, but I guess I've never seen it again, so it was sort of worth it. It's a very short album too, which makes the price even harder to defend!

But it's a very decent album, nothing mind-blowing, but very low-key and restrained with nice playing. One or two great tracks, and a whole bunch of short decent pieces.

You've inspired me to whip up a quick review of it, I guess it is rather forgotten!

Yes. I have the old edition. I'm waiting for a GDM remastered version with bonus tracks.

That soundtrack compilation looks good!

Anyway, I REALLY like the dirty bass playing on `Droga', and it's got a lot of different percussion sounds! Not a bad album at all!

I can't find the Goblin albums `Volo' (1982) or `Squadra Anti-Gangsters' (1979) anywhere, but I've found them to purchase on the Itunes digital download service available in Australia.

However, `Volo' would be $13, while `Squadra' is $17! If you've heard them, Pierre, or anyone else, are they worth paying that much for?

I kind of think there's more deserving albums to spend my cash on...

Volo sounds disco and Squadra Anti Gangesters more or less. Thumbs Down for me.  The eighties are not good times for prog.

Thank you, my friend, I'll give them a miss for now! Actually, I should look on Youtube for some sample clips and see what I'm.....urh, `missing out on'!

Plenty of endless other lovely RPI albums to focus on!

I've been listening to the first Banco album endlessly lately, now THAT is a prog album people should spend money on! I've actually come to that one very late, I think lots of people already know that's a good one!

I'm really interested in exploring the works of GOBLIN. I hear they are known well for their dark, haunting rhythms and I'd be happy to lend an ear to something like that. Meanwhile, their is a box set available that I found. It's a 6cd set entitled 'THE AWAKENING' and it's currently priced at just under 60$ CAN.

What do you guys think? I'm not so sure the price will go down. It's the only thing that is stopping me at the moment
Gimmie my headphones now!!! 🎧🤣

Sounded like a good time!

Well all this talk about Goblin encouraged me to get my first LP by them this morning, "Roller".  On my first listen with headphones on while smelling the Thanksgiving turkey cooking while watching one of those silly parades (muted).  Snip Snap playing, it is quite snappy, I am liking what I hear so far.

^^^

Indeed.

But only the first four records are, at least, very good (from Profondo Rosso to Bagarozzo Mark).

Well, I've taken a look at the Goblin's pages on amazon and ... I never realized how expensive are those cd on the net.

On my local italian shop things are cheaper.

Try this one and ask for their catalogue: [email protected]

You're right Andrea. Expensive too on ebay. I bought these Cd's a few years ago (included vita della droga) for almost nothing.
