Actually Doc, I know exactly how you feel.....I feel it whenever they tell me I'm living in a "center right" country.  I hear that phrase all the time and don't feel it.  There are no absolutes.  We are all dealing with our own filters and expectations apparently.

I suppose you are right in some sense.  The area where you live will play a major role in how you see the country.  Still, I would say overall the country has moved far to the right of where it was 40 years ago, at least in terms of economics.  Compare 70% top tax rate to today's 35%.  Also, the social safety net is being attacked on just about every front, war is being waged against unions (and a good portion of americans think everything is the fault of the unions), etc.

Anywho, what made you turn to the dark side, Jim? Wink
I can understand your anger at me, but what did the horse I rode in on ever do to you?

That last part made me laugh Doc.....I remember asking a friend that question years ago when he embraced "a different team".......he looks at me with this weird face and says all seriously "you don't really think I'm evil, do you man?"   I guess now I know what he felt like LOL

At least you two feel that you live in either a left or right-of-center state from what you see around you; here in FL the only possible conclusion is we live in a country upside down

How long did you wait in line and what day did you vote?  Just curious, no point to be made.

I will offer up that we went in for early voting on the second day it was open and it was quick and painless.  We live in Georgia.

It was quite fast. I live nearby a senior community (typical FL) so the process was quick and the line short.

But I'm not sure they have finished counting the votes here

Damn, I was just coming to post this.  I'm sure the disgusting hypocricy of our terrorist-in-chief won't be pointed out in the mainstream media.  I'm also sure that our beloved progarchive's democrats aren't bothered at all by this and will continue to wipe Obama's ass so long as he continues to rob from the poor and future generations to fund his corporate welfare projects.

Republicans are such hypocrites - if he weren't bombing those countries they'd be saying "why isn't our wimpy liberal president doing more to protect us from those turrists?!"

I do find this Bengahzi thing some epic bullcrap.
Obama lied. Ooooooo stop the presses!

I guarantee if the same happened under Wubya he'd be applauded for "not scaring the country" and not "emboldening the enemy". That whole administration was a secret anyway.
Does anyone remember that news story about the secret group not even Congress knew about, with the authority to assassinate people, and answered directly to Cheney? Guess there was nothing wrong with the VP having a personal army, after all Bama said Fuhgedabout it and we did.

Oh my, they'd be saying a lot more than this - if you remember the Libyan campaign, there was such a surrealistic cacophony of  critical voices, Republican and otherwise ... to summarize:

"Obama is no good, because he went into Libya without Congressional approval, but didn't go fast and deep enough, so get out of there NOW, and also send in ground troops already, and give more money to the rebels, but dontcha dare raise taxes or increase the deficit, and arm those rebels with heavy weapons, but keep away from them, as they sure are Al-Qaeda czar bolsheviks".

Am I getting it right that the only takeaway some of you are getting from the presidents reign of terror over the middle east is that republicans are hypocritical?  Are you guys f**king serious?  It doesn't matter two sh*ts what party he represents, he's a goddamned murdering b*****d.  Do you guys also miss the hypocracy you're spewing in calling republican rhetoric hypocritical?  You're defending neo-con foreign policy simply because of the D next to obama's name.

Obama is defended because he has a great big feck-off P in front of his name, as would any American leader regardless of their political persuasion. Foreign policy is determined by people who you don't get to vote into power and who don't change from one administration to the next, the civil servants, the military and the various security agencies - American foreign policy hasn't changed a great deal in decades (if ever).
What?

Speaking about pulling the strings, who here reads about Agenda 21 and why there isn't strong opposition elsewhere, with the exception of the United States, I know it's a part of the Republican national platform.

Had you read up on the amendments in advance?

^ I would not recommend voting on a George Carlin YouTube clip.  I'm fairly certain your vote won't be counted.

Some things you might or might not have missed from the US elections:
Reince Priebus, Take out the vowels and you get RNC PR BS.
It's huuuuge.
"Stop it!!! This is hard."
