Speaking as a liberal. We would not want a McCain or a Romney Instead. We may have problems with some of the things he's done as president. We aren't the morons that you think we are. You debase yourself with that comment.

It's the "selective sins" approach to "gotcha", Slarti.  Some pages back, during the campaign, I posted a list of dozens of accomplishments by Obama with links, the majority of which would not be part of any Republican administration I have ever suffered through Big smile.  But these were deflected because they were not taking the discussion in the direction in which the other party intended.  Politics is, unfortunately, all about compromise.  If you can find a party/leader whose entire philosophy meshes with your own, and then actually vote that party/leader into power to see their behavior continue to mesh with your ideal, then you are very lucky indeed.

So you cease to be outraged by human rights violations because the guy has also done some things you like? That's like all those movie stars who excused Roman Polanski from raping a girl because "hey, he made Rosemary's Baby. That's a good movie!"

By the way, has Equality made any posts, at all, recently?  Do we need to file a missing member report?

I did get the basic idea for my signature from yours.  I had to decide whether to go with "philosophical heroes" or "favorite females" and decided the lovely ladies would be a nicer change of pace than a bunch of old/dead guys.

Although I'm not sure if all of the ladies in MoM's signature are very good composers.

That's the strangest double entendre I've ever heard. Confused

I listened to Harold in Italy last night. It was great.

Sadly, my double entendre usually have to go through multiple language and cultural filters to make sense CryLOL

I love some of Berlioz works (mostly his symphonic works,). But of your 5 Guys (not to be mistaken with the amazing hamburger chain), my certain favorite is the one that composed very long operas.

I'm not too fond of the viola though. Tongue
