This thread is very punny.

Someone shoot me.

Necro, did you see that post to the Wisconsin guitar chick that I posted for you about 50 pages back or so?

I don't believe I did.  Haven't been in the Shred for some time.  It wasn't some girl named Sarah Longfield, was it?

Just a guess.  There aren't many Wisconsin guitar girls like that out there.

She's from the city where I attend university.  I've seen her band play a few shows locally.  Girl can shred like none other.

They were talking about her on MMA, and since she was from Wisconsin I figured that you would like to know about her, if you didn't already.

I wish we had guitar chicks that could shred. All the music around here is either country, nu punk, or laughably bad death metal.

I don't understand why so many people don't like Epping Forest. I find it to be one of the finest Genesis songs of all time

I haven't heard many say they didn't like it; but I have heard a lot of people say it's not one of their favorites on the album.  I've said that, in fact.  Keep in mind a lot of people who say that (incl me) think the album itself is one of the best ever made.

I spent some time tonight overdubbing (re-recording) guitar solos on top of four songs from our last show's master tape (and yes, it is a tape).  I was so disappointed when the original solos didn't come through on the live mix,  but hopefully I've righted that now.  I'm not as "on" tonight as I was that day, and part of the old solo is still audible (barely), but that just kind of adds a phasing/psychedelic effect.  I'll give it the car stereo test tomorrow.

i also think that. I also think Epping Forest is an epic 11 minute beauty that tells an amazing and well told story that should be cherished for eternity.

I never really followed the story, to be honest.  Never had the lyric sheet in front of me.  Sounds like a street fight maybe?

"The Battle of Epping Forest" is Genesis lyrics at their wittiest, with several different musical themes.  Amazing song.
