Since Dean is being purposely opaque, I will explain that he was questioning why you think four more years of Obama would result in socialism. Since he is from an actual socialist country, he doesn't understand the contention that Obama hates capitalism and wants to see it destroyed.

Well, Obama, being a socialist, wants to implement more and more socialism, and although I think socialism has it's place, I don't think it will help our country economically at this point.

More so than I do, but not as much as Congress, not as much as the Federal Reserve, not as much as global stock markets, and so on. So actually, not really that much when you account for things that do affect the economy as their sole purpose of existing, day in and day out.

Obama is not a socialist, not even a social democrat, he's a liberal corporatist of sorts, not exactly a socialist.

How so? I suppose he could endorse candidates, but the Senate somewhat and the House especially are much more tumultuous races and there more of a community connection, and given that 50% of the country vehemently opposes Obama, his endorsement would likely not be accepted well, especially in battleground states.

Now if you're talking about the Democratic party and how their efforts fund campaigns, then that is very different.

The claim the the president influences who gets in Congress is tenuous at best.

Barack is no socialist. Deliberate mischaracterization benefits no-one. What we really need to say is this: Barack Obama is your average liberal. He represents run-of-the-mill American Liberal views. He's far from the extreme, but he's also not a centrist. As a president, he spends a lot of time trying to build bridges with the Right, who have rolled right off the deep end and want nothing to do with him. The Right is, quite simply, a problem. There's no way around it. They've gone to such extremes that they've already begun eating their own. That is not a sustainable course. The Right cannot afford to fragment while the Left is still a unified coalition. If the Democrats were having a huge identity crisis as well, we'd already be talking about the formation of new parties, but that isn't happening. The next four years in the Republican party are going to be about working out their issues with themselves.

I voted neither for the President nor for Mitt Romney.  But the good things about the reelection are:

1. The media can't look at a Romney presidency and say "Well, we tried free market principles, and they didn't work."

2. No more blaming Bush.  Time to stand on your own policies and record, Bar-bar.  Big smile

I'd say Obama is more of a fascist but that's splitting authoritarian-label hairs.
