I have to wonder if people know what words mean. Is the Republican party's problem hyperconservatives or neo-conservatives? Because those are pretty much opposites. I'm hyperconservative, and I don't like how many neo-cons are in the party these days. |

Today, both parties are a coalition of various voting groups. Republicans have economic libertarians, social conservatives, and so on. The issue with the GOP today is that its base is dying out. It's going to have to do some soul-searching in the near future, because it's pretty well doomed to be a minority party if it keeps on this hyperconservative Tea Party kick. The primaries and idiots like Akin are really what killed Mitt's chances. Mitt ran a decent campaign, but the stuff he had to say to get the party's nomination came back to bite him in the general election. Stupid comments by other conservatives looked bad for the man who just fought so hard to be in their company. I feel for the man, because Mitt Romney being Mitt Romney probably would have won the general election. Wouldn't have gotten close to snagging the GOP nom, though. |

If you didn't realize that a long time ago, the Republican is basically the NeoConservative party.

Borderline evil? ![]() And not counting their friends who want to lower the living standards of almost everyone in the US and around the world.

Agreed but...that process is a very very long one, and sadly impossible. Until people want to learn.
Edit: oh and I rarely use such words with any seriousness but neo cons are borderline evil. The mindset of their leaders, very disturbing stuff. Edited by JJLehto - November 07 2012 at 00:52 |

But it's that purging attitude that can be so toxic-- if people are informed and educated and they still want to vote for Neocons, so be it.

Sadly, I really don't think there are any. I would love to see the country purged of Neo Cons...it may take an exorcism. |

Yes, I did
Without going through the 61 posts I missed since I went out: What'd I miss?
![]() One wonders how many times the republican party will have to be taught the same lesson before anything sinks in. Is it too early to predict the neocons, that destroyed the party, somehow continue to maintian control going into 2016 and put Santorum or Christy, or some other such moron, up?
