One of my sisters has two boys who are identical twins! They are 17 now. You guys know any friends or relatives that are identical twins?

I knew a pair of brothers in school who were identical brothers, the only way to tell them apart was one had a mole.

^That reminds me, when i was in high school, there were two brothers who were identical twins. There was no way to tell them apart.

I went to college with identical twin sisters.  I was good friends with one of them in college, and I sometimes would talk to the other one as if we were close friends, because although I knew it was the sister (they were fairly easy to tell apart), it was still close enough that I felt just as comfortable around her.  Interestingly, the sister now lives in Atlanta and I see her fairly often and I'm probably closer to her now than I am to the original sister friend.

Do they have a presidential tea too? I'd buy that.

Steve, have you and Rare Goat ever thought of putting up an album on Bandcamp or something?

We have about 10 originals now - if we can get them all recorded to our satisfaction, then I'll definitely be pushing for that.   I feel we should also be playing out more, once in a while at least.  But I do have this nagging fear that once money starts getting into our matters, it will suck a lot of the fun out of it, and may introduce conflict into our fairly casual (though recently more serious) outlook.  Plus, if we start playing out TOO MUCH (too early to worry about that, granted), it will definitely interfere with my home and work life, which I don't want to do.

But Bandcamp?  Sure.  Every (non major)  band should be on there, it's great.

If I had a dollar for every time I started to post something in the Political Discussion Thread, and then abandoned it before hitting "post", I'd have a couple of hundred dollars.  I just can't see myself opening up myself to an argument that may never end, and which would probably alienate people from me if I were honest.

I am pretty happy with my not-posting-about-politics policy.

What are your political stances? Yeah, I don't believe you've mentioned politics much in the time I've been here.

My stance revolves around the following semi-connected beliefs:

- Most people are hypocrites, including myself

- Almost all of what we think we know about the world has come through the filter of the media, and is therefore untrustworthy

- Ergo, most political arguments are based on self-selected "facts" collected from the media  that can be chosen and/or discarded at will

- In the absence of economic growth, there is only a finite number of dollars available to the citizens of our country.  If the rich don't want to give any up, the poor aren't going to get any more.

- Thus, nothing will change unless/until (god forbid) a catastrophe of magnificent proportions hits us, and we are basically forced to start from scratch.

- Nobody wants this either, least of all me.

I admit it felt to get that out in writing, instead of just cursing under my breath in traffic all the time like I usually do.

Seems like a pretty good and reasonable stance. I'd have to say I agree with a lot of it.
