I'm about 90% sure I'll vote for Bama, but maybe I'll have a last minute Johnson urge (yes like that kind).
But Indiana is so red it doesn't even matter either way.

I'm predicting that the stock market will crash if Obama is elected and rally if Romney is elected.

Let me pick out just one from this list. "Making medical decisions for your spouse if he or she becomes incapacitated and unable to express wishes for treatment." You don't think married couples should be granted that benefit?
This is true for entrepreneurs, but not necessarily for anyone else. People who inherit their money haven't produced anything of value to get it. And if you're on a salary, the money you earn doesn't have anything to do with how much of value you have produced, it has to do with how much your boss is willing to pay you.
Because what this implies is that the health and even life of some people is worth more than that of others.
Then how come socio-economic mobility is lower in the US than in many purportedly 'socialist' European countries? Edited by HarbouringTheSoul - November 06 2012 at 03:16 |

That's not a "benefit." That's an automatic outcome of a contract. Single people can appoint a medical power of attorney (another contract). |

I'm sure I've heard somewhere that Soros has been purchasing sh*t loads of gold in the last year or so. About 12 months ago I saw him interveiewed saying that he thought it may be time for a new reserve currency backed by a basket of currencies, oil and precious metals. |

Just wondering what others' thoughts are on this. It seems to me, and this is one of the reasons I'm so disgusted with the Republican party these days (one of, note), that as a whole, the Republican party is more judgmental and more fearful. When I say fearful, I'm talking about conspiracy theories that have no basis in reality (Obama is a Kenyan Muslim Terrorist, for example). But I base this on nothing else but what I have observed, personally. What do you think?
I also think that the leaders of the Republican party join in this judgmental and fearful attitude more often than the Democrats. But once again, 100% based on personal observations. An example of this played out - I read an article the other day about stock trends and presidents, and how the stock market often dips when a Republican President is replaced by a Democrat. This seems ridiculous to me, especially considering the economy was strongest during a recent Democrat President, but then I remember all the fear and Armageddon predictions I've heard from Republican friends of mine (if you elect Obama, he's going to outlaw cars!). |

Perhaps I should give an example:
Yesterday, when I went to the men's room at work, I saw that someone had strategically left a newsletter in one of the stalls for the "Christian Anti-Communism" group. The thing went on and on about various Communist conspiracies trying to abolish Christianity. Some of the more entertaining sections included (but are not limited to): - You're an idiot if you can't see by now that Islam is a religion of violence (um, the acts of few are not definitive of the whole or Christianity would be as well) - Obama and the Democrats are involved in a Liberal conspiracy to undermine God and stamp out Christianity from America (yeah, he's still pretending he's not actually a muslim...) - it talked about the conspiracy of the Liberal Media and its propaganda, and in the very next line quoted Sean Hannity...as if he weren't daily spewing forth his own brand of propaganda. I threw it in the trash on my way out, but highly considered taking it back to my desk and writing "thanks for the extra toilet paper, but it's a bit rough" and putting it back where I found it. Now, I know many Democrats think Republicans are all evil as well, but I have never actually seen chain letters or newsletters making ridiculous claims like those above coming from that side of things. But then again, my whole life I've been surrounded by "Republicans for life". |

So I guess you didn't see the ad that showed Paul Ryan pushing an old lady in a wheelchair off a cliff? I agree that the fear mongering and conspiracy theories are ridiculous, but they have become a major tool in politics these days and I don't think their use is limited to one side. No, Obama is not a Muslim and yes, he was born in America. No, Paul Ryan doesn't want to murder old women and George Bush didn't blow up the world trade center. Let's just all agree that the people who claim these things are crazy and that craziness knows no party. |

No matter what candidate, I predict a civil war by the end of 2014. The nation will be devised into several new nations, all in violent wars with each other until we all die in a fiery Armageddon triggered by the economy collapsing, civil liberties taken away, and increasing climate change.

And how do you think your boss decides how much to pay you? It is not based on whim, but based on the value he believes you bring to the companies. Companies cannot afford to pay people more than they produce. If they did, they would go out of business.
No it doesn't. It implies that some types medical care (not synonymous with health or life) are worth more than others. |

Trust me , I've seen em. Each side is full of bullsh*tters who love to stereotype and generalize the other side. It's insane. It's as if they're two more minority groups to discriminate against. |

I'm guessing there are more devout Christians among republican supporters. They are more likely to believe in end times scenarios, if they are already predisposed to believing in something that can't be scientifically substantiated. End times prophecies actually work quite well for politicians, because the more people who can be pursuaded that the world is going to end whenever, the more people you have with a nihilistic view of the world, and a sense of resignation; that they can't effect change on anything. I like to sit outside the left/right thing, because I see it as a means of dividing people who should really be pulling together and standing up to government in order to make it serve the people, not the other way round. If you take a step back you'll see that the liberals actually push their own scaremongering ideas, and their own dubious racially motivated agenda's, but unlike their conservative counterparts, who are generally too witless to disguise their feelings, clever liberals disguise it as humour and irony. I can't post Youtube clips from work, but just look up Bill Maher and Michael Moore's recent anti Romney messages. There are clips of pensioners in care hoes saying they're gonna to rip Romneys testicles off if he wins. Bill Maher jokes that if you're white and you vote Romney "The black guys know who you are and where you live, and they'll get you" It's disgusting really, but liberals like this get away with it, because they do it with a sardonic smile, but you know theit vitreol is very real. Try and tweet what you're going to do to Obama if he wins, and see how quick the FBI come knocking at your door. |

Well, today I will cast my first vote in a presidential election as an American. Too bad it will be a losing vote...
