Sad news.    I'm sure that brought back a lot of memories.  I remember at my 20 year high school reunion I found out that one of my childhood friends had died.  It had been so long that I wasn't really sure how to feel, but it really made me think.

It really has brought back a flood of memories.  I appreciate your guys' sympathy, but it probably isn't really deserved or necessary.  He hasn't been a part of my life in years, so it seems strange to be affected by his loss.

Year or two ago, I was at a relative's birthday party at the park.  Ran into a woman who lived within five minutes of us walking distance (when I was growing up).  Her son Joel was a school friend of my brother's.

Found out then- never heard anything about it until then- that Joel was working construction equipment and a piece fell on him and killed him.  I swam in a dirty lake with that kid back in the early 90s.

Even though that was my brother's friend, I felt a little "deader" inside, if that makes any sense.

Thanks for your reply, Steve. I rate both those Passport albums 5 stars, they are from that classic period of the band that could do no wrong. Interesting thing about Second Passport is keys player John Mealing, who was also in the groups If and The Strawbs. He's great. Those two albums are some of the greatest fusion by anybody, ever. Enjoy!  (Oh, by the way, don't know if you've heard it, but i would highly recommend Blue Cheer's second album, Outsideinside, which i feel is their best. One of the ultimate heavy, acid rock freakout albums of the sixties!)
