I'm sure I've done that quite a few times.

Early morning and it's still not cool, at least in the house.

I've had a good weekend, productive around the house (house cleaning, the never ending CD & LP collection maintenance), yet still getting to rest when I need it.  I've been in pretty bad shape with allergies this week, and I needed some time to just chill and recover.  Doing much better today.

Good stuff. What does the CD & LP collection maintenance entail?

I do that too, constantly, but I thought you were just thought of as polite and having good manners when you did that. No, wait! That's just when you drink tea, something I never doConfused

Currently I'm archiving a bunch of music I only have on CDR, taking it off my shelf, converting to mp3 files and storing them on data DVDs if they're things I rarely (or never) listen to.  Just trying to maximize shelf and disk space.  For the LPs, it's more a matter of filing them away with the collection (listening to them first, if possible), since I have about 30 new ones I haven't put away yet.  It's not hard work, but it does take time, and it's nice when I can block off a few hours on the weekend for that kind of thing.  Plus I get to listen to my records while I do it.  Right now it's "The Missing Piece" by Gentle Giant, one of my newest vinyl acquisitions.

Sounds nicely productive.
I listened to The Missing Piece yesterday. Good album, and certainly not as bad as some make it out to be.

What do you get for pretending the danger's not real
Meek and obedient you follow the leader
Down well trodden corridors into the valley of steel
What a surprise!
A look of terminal shock in your eyes
Now things are really what they seem
No, this is no bad dream.

I've never been told that, but I don't particularly care because it is a comfortable way to hold my cup sometimes.

Balancing my mug with my pinky hurts. It'd be much easier to just hold it normally

The Missing Piece is a really great album, and given a lot of undeserved hatred. How are you enjoying Illusions On A Double Dimple and Vincebus Eruptum?

My pinky has its own life, especially when I'm playing bass with fingers. Sometimes I have to stop playing when I become too distracted by the pinky going wild all over the place.

What kind of bass guitar do you own?

It's an old Yamaha BB300 I bought off my friend about six or seven years ago. I almost regret raping it with stickers over the years, but not quite. It's an adequate instrument for my needs, but at times I dream of a Fender Jazz Bass or a Rickenbacker.

Oh, I've got a picture online:

I miss that Epiphone Les Paul, it's got something wrong with the wiring so that the bridge pickup doesn't work anymore.

My dad called me while I was hanging out shopping at the CD store and told me that while he was doing his daily reading of the obituaries he came acrossed one of my childhood friends.  He died last Thursday and the funeral is tomorrow.  I probably haven't seen him in over 25 years.  We went to elementary school together and we played on the same little league baseball team from the ages of 5 to 12.  I stayed in the public school system, but he went to Catholic school following elementary school, and we pretty much lost touch after that.  My parents lived in the same area as his parents in Florida and my mom used to get haircuts from his mom, so I would hear news bits here and there but that is pretty much the extent of any connection I have had with him in the past 25 years.  Even so, I feel like I was just punched in the gut.
