Sorry that I was behind, guys. Yahoo! Mail informed me of only a few of your posts from this thread too late.

Our clues are: on PA, a British band, 70's, not on the debut, not {Proto, Related}.

Does the band's name have an "a" in it?

Does the band’s name have a "the" in it?
He say nothing is quite what it seems;
I say nothing is nothing

The band's name has neither an "a" nor a "the" in it.

Is there a colour in the band’s name?

Does the band's name have a word that has something to do with size?

Brand X? They fit with all the criteria so far.

I think that might depend on your interpretation, but I would say no.

Does a word in the band's name have anything to do with science (any kind of it)?
