Just saw a really cool, old Black Sabbath concert on DVD, recently released, Live in Paris, 1970. It is something to see the band when "Paranoid" was "the new album". Bootleg quality vid and sound, but it doesn't matter, the band are playing ferociously-it is really something to see! There are songs tacked on from a '78 concert, too, but i don't like that part. The DVd title is Black Sabbath Live 1970-1978

that sounds hot! I've seen the Never Say Die concert, and even that was pretty sweet. But 1970? Diabolical, man.

I saw that you were listening to them. Not a band that I have ever heard of.

They made a couple of albums in the 1990s.  Really fast, intricate guitar/bass/drum/violin music.  Jazz rock fusion, I guess, like Mahavishnu or Dixie Dregs, but faster and more complex.

Wolfgang's Vault is offering a free download of a Frank Zappa concert for people who sign up for a membership there.  http://www.wolfgangsvault.com/frank-zappa/concerts/capitol-theatre-october-13-1978-early-show.html?utm_source=CVNL&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=121030  The membership seems to be a pretty decent deal that pays for itself after a couple of concert downloads.

Thanks for the tip!  I've considered doing Wolfgang's Vault now and then, but my interest in acquiring concert recordings has waned over the years.  I've already got more Zappa shows than I know what to do with !

I still like pulling out an old Phish show now and then, though.
