Well you've got at least half of it! I wouldn't go any farther than that to be quite honest. Banagrang is pretty . You've got the essentials down and that's great. Like I said before, not a big fan, but I respect to a degree. |

That would be a beautiful experience. There would be such a sense of freedom - incredible. Any recommendations for Burial? A lot of talk about him this year - it's sparked my interest a bit. I wanted to get into more Electro, and you guys are a big help. |

Second impressions of Explosions in the Sky - the Earth is Not a Cold Dead Place: It gets kind of repetitious by the end of it, the same sound and same song structure for each song, and the sound of the album is a bit overly Sentimental in a way, but it's good. Good musicianship, and what I'm in the mood for right now.
I'll check out the ones you posted, Max |

Yeah man, I think you'd really enjoy them.
Also, Explosions are fantastic. They sort of remind me of memories of childhood, adolescence - like you said sentimentality. Opposed to let's say, Godspeed, where their music is much more dissonant and apocalyptic. I find I can kind of relate to the Explosions more in that perspective - love nostalgic feelings. |

I probably don't like them as much because of that. I don't feel too much nostalgia, especially in relation to how much I think about the future. |

One of the best things about Post-rock bands is their (song) names

Did you catch any of the perhaps better tours later on? Camel is the one of my biggest favourite bands that I still haven't seen live. Pretty much because their last tour took place before I heard of them. I don't think there's any official release of that concert you had on DVD, it would be nice if it's good quality.

When Camel Productions started their label, I think my dad ordered some stuff from them, and included in the letter that he and I were probably the oldest and youngest person in that 1982 audience. We both bought and got got signed copies of "Never Let Go" and "On the Road 1982" (recorded very close to the date where I saw them, and with the same set list). It's perhaps unfortunate that I only got to see them when the band was kind of in disarray (why else would you hire someone like Chris Rainbow to sing... yuck...). But then again, I was young, I was getting heavily into the band, and I loved it all - "The Single Factor" only seemed weak in retrospect (though even then it did feel like the album was too short). And on the tour, they played a ton of songs from "I Can See Your House" and "Nude", two excellent albums by any measure. This, by the way, I think is a clip from the 1976 concert I got off the internet. It's professionally shot with multiple angles, so I'm guessing it was probably televised somewhere. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w3kUR0cXt-U |

Wolfgang's Vault has an interesting San Francisco vs Detroit playlist happening in honor of the World Series. They alternate live tracks between SF bands and Detroit bands. http://www.wolfgangsvault.com/playlists/san-francisco-vs-detroit/playlist-442831.html?utm_source=CVNL&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=121025

I'd like to see Jerry Garcia vs Iggy Pop in a death match.
