They are not well known to most people, but among people who like this kind of music they are reckoned one of the best and most influential.

So, they are on PA. Does the name start with C?

Our clues are: a British prog/proggish band with a song from the 90's, released material in other decades, they are somewhat popular, the band's name starts with a letter in the C-D range, are currently inactive, their music features electronics, were suggested three times on PA, did not play rock, they sprang from the industrial music sub-culture of the late 70's, they have an extensive Wiki page, formed between '80-'85.
