Still in the dark. From Syria?

No, not from Syria.

BTW, I hope you have had a good time with your brother, his girlfriend and the kids.

Move aside, uncle.

I’m not very proud to solve this, but your last hint led me directly to Muhammad al-Mahdi.

ClapYou found him at last. I added a new element to the puzzle: you may have noticed some letters and numbers between braces.
These read: N 34°11'55.6" E 43°52'24.2". Wikipedia gives these as the coordinates of the al-Askari mosque, built on the place where Muhammad al-Mahdi disappeared according to the Twelvers (to make it a bit more difficult, I converted them to degrees, minutes and seconds).

It was certainly difficult enough for me, especially since I didn’t take notice of the N and the first number. I was either blind or really absent minded.

Here’s a new one:
Female, alive.

I say nothing is nothing

None of the above.

And I forgot:

Thanks, we have a very good time! They’re leaving on Sunday, so we’ll see them once more before they return to Berlin.
