The only argument I can see against the new Alphataurus I can imagine is that it has a
very clean modern sound and it's not very 70ties in this point.

But if you heard the (fantastic) Live at Bloom and liked it, you don't have to worry
that's exactly what you are going to get soundwise.

Play it loud and let the thundering bass kill your speakersHeadbanger

My first impressions on the new Alphataurus :

The first song, Progressiva mente, begins rather well. A simple effective guitar riff followed by a dreamy synthesizer melody, then by the entry of the voice for a verse and a chorus of good quality. An instrumental started on acoustic guitar and pursued by a kind of moog solo follows, Then you have  a nice symphonic passage. After different solos, the song ends in a coda, very weak in my opinion, A kind of mainstream rock. Too bad. .
Gocce, the second song, begins  like "Army of me" of Björk, but without the power and again this spirit of radio rock. I don't like the voice melody.
Ripensando..., the third, is an nstrumental. It begins very well by a theme on the piano and the synth. It's certainly romantic, but very Italian as I like. At 2.00, things are accelerating to create a kind of tarantella not realy good.
Claudette is surely the most adventurous song. The Melody of the voice is beautiful. I prefer the soft moments.
The album ends with Valgie di Terra, a song very inspired by Genesis sometimes, with interesting jazzy passages. The melody is catchy and the mood is varied. Maybe the best song with the first one and the fourth.

That's all I have to say.  Not a bad album, but certainly not the one I was waiting for. It's my opinion.

^ I also left a message being a newbie to RPI, been using along with PA to see what I want to try next.  I did just get Blocco Mentale and Luciano Basso-Voci, love them both.

Oh, that Cormorano album cover is terrible...I've heard of goosing someone before, but that is nuts...even though it looks like a crane or swan....Embarrassed

Do you already know this one, Aep ? This Campo Di Marte's album is one of the best. Very well written and delicate.
It was a hit in Argentina, which is not surprising when you know the argentina's prog. I find that there are many similarities between the music of these two countries.

Still have to get those two, they are on my list for a long time but I always forget to order them.

And by the way it's a swan or to be more precise is the Greek god Zeus and Leda, who didn't had to
take the harsh consequences Europe had to take (really flatening ones) after mating with Zeus in form
of a taurus.

The singer Michelle Zarrillo was just 16 years old when the band recorded this album. Mats.

One of my favorite RPI albums. Can't get enough of those psychopathic riffs!
