Both of them are amazing but today I'm in the mood for Genesis.

Supper's Ready, I like CttE but it's nowhere near my favorite Yes track. Whereas Supper is my all time favorite song nothing can beat it for me.

Supper's Ready. Maybe because I'm more of Genesis fan than Yes?

CttE for the Mander Pipe Organ interlude. Have always LOVED that part! Also, CttE seems to be more seamless than SR - more like one song than a suite of shorter songs as SR is...

kinda hard to decide, as for most others ^^ Both are among my top 3 favorite songs for each band, but neither is my favorite. In the end I guess I'll pick Close to the Edge, mainly because of how much I love symphonic atmospheres. Supper's Ready is better live though :D
Btw, 84-83!! Man this poll really is even :O

85-84 for CttE, one of my favourite prog tracks of all time.
Supper's Ready is a good one from Genesis, but far from the best.

"Close to the Edge". Because music of "Yes" is more closer to me.

Ooh, this is a TOUGH one. Two great masterpieces of prog rock, and we have to decide which we like better. Don't you guys know that some of us find these kind of polls frustrating?
"Close to the Edge" wins for me, though, because although "Supper's Ready" is a little easier to follow and has some killer transitions, "Close to the Edge" seems to have a brighter atmosphere and a better flow. This is actually a general reason why I like Yes more than Genesis.
But I'm expecting to have the opposite opinion tomorrow.

Too different to choose! Both are amazing and opened the way to new horizons. No point in making a choice.

CTTE--because it is what great prog should be--musicians playing the hell out of their instruments and playing at the top of their game---Love Suppers Ready but only near perfect---not enough great playing except for the end.

What a "fratricide" choice !
Supper's ready is excellent and may be more rich and creative than Close to the edge,
but never gave me these escaping moments.
Do, my vote for Yes !
