I recommend SAVIOUR MACHINE.

This band has impressed me so much for so long. They are one of the very few bands where I can say that they do not have one weak spot in their entire discography. It's all fancinating, quality work. You can also learn about the book of Revelations in their LEGEND TRILOGY. Brilliant stuff and you don't have to be religious to enjoy it.

SM produce a DARK GOTHIC PROG METAL sound that quite frankly is the best in the business. Go now and by their albums!! Treat your ears to something magnificent this week. ;)
Gimmie my headphones now!!! 🎧🤣

I recommend TIEMKO (see my reviews)

JEAN-JACQUES TOUSSAINT ( who was playing keyboard + other instruments + singing in TIEMKO ) has much to show about TIEMKO and its projects on his website.

I recommend.... CONTINUUM !!!

Continuum is a "Dark Prog" band wich proposing a dense and singular music : it plunges the listener with fluidity into the rhythmical waves of the progressive metal, where fascinating melodies with non Euclidian accents get towards the somber depths of a Lovecraftian universe... Or attract towards the majesty of the celestial spheres inspired by Arthur C.Clarke.
After the release of the first album back in 2009, available from now on-line, Continuum gets ready for the release of its second collection, From the Depths, Which will delight the amateurs of Symphony X, King Crimson, Andromeda, Genesis, but also composers such as Gustav Holst or Jeremy soule.

A trailer available here :

Enjoy, and see you soon !!

A band that I recently found is Ocean Architecture. They're for fans of Opeth, Agalloch, and other extreme metal bands. Check out the songs "Plato's Cave", "Columns of Time" and "Metatheory".

I recommend Helstar's 'a distant thunder' and 'Nosferatu'. These might appeal to fans of early Crimson Glory and Fates Warning.

[QUOTE=martinprog77] [QUOTE=dtguitarfan]If you like instrumental Jazzy Progressive Metal fusion, and/or if you like Joe Satriani, check out the new Counter World Experience album, Music For Kings.  The reason I mention Satriani is the guitarist's tone and sound kind of reminded me of him.  In any case, I found it very enjoyable stuff. Hello guys,

I just wanted to recommend you a band I just discovered, called Mindwork. They are from Czech republic and play very progressive form of metal including jazz and art rock influences. Must for fans of Opeth, Porcupine Tree or even Pink Floyd. Here is the sample of song from their upcoming album:
http://soundcloud.com/martin-schuster-5/03-the-stream-of-causality

And their facebook profile:

Cheers,
Ivan
