NES - neat, simple, user-friendly, and classic
SNES - Introduced shoulder buttons, a staple in gaming controllers today. Still fairly simple and user friendly
N64 - Clusterf**k of buttons, three handels. Awkward as hell
Gamecube - Better than the N64, but still a ton of buttons and sticks
Wii - Motion control was a neat idea at first. Emphasis on AT FIRST.

SNES gets my vote

Wii is the only one I know - it's not that great - no vote.

I've tried Gamecube and N64, and bought a Wii for the kids (mostly).  I love Zelda.  I would have got a Sony system had it not been for the kids which was the same price on sale, but a much better system.  The Wii's is not the best motion control out there, but I find motion control excellent.  I get a real work-out with various games -- especially Wii Sports, and found the controls much better for Zelda's Twilight Princess and Skyward Sword than playing Ocarina of Time on N64 (I'm most used to the Wii controls, though, and didn't try N64 until after having a Wii).

SNES - Simple and dynamic without being overly complex - plus it fits in your hand splendidly. Really, all the modern controllers are expansions on that one pristine design. Hell, even the Wii controller + nunchuk is merely the Sness controller split in half and connected by a cord. Well, kind of.

SNES had the most ergonomic design and was an ideal balance between complexity and pragmatics for console gaming.

Absolutely love the iconic NES Nintendo controller! I've read how many industry people regarded it as one of the worst ergonomic controllers, but I never had a problem with it!

The NES is still my favourite game machine, I snap up cheap games for it all the time!

Anyone who has played Zelda Skyward Sword with Wii Motion Plus will know how amazing it is.

But because Zelda Ocarina of Time was played with that one, I choose the N64 controller.

N64 controller

LOL Okay, but seriously I love the Gamecube controller and the console itself is just classic - I grew up on that thing. Geek
The N64 is my favourite out of the systems though. Donkey Kong 64, anyone?

Wii. I have PS3 Move and it is not as accurate. Yeah, I know, the made the hand held controller what it is today ( for all systems). But the Wii is the only reason I would by anything nntendo.

For those who don't get it, Nintendo used to make playing cards.
