Brian is such a badass bassist isn't he? LOL

Ultimate Post Rock/ Metal line-up Bowdown:
Drums and assorted percussion: John Herndon and John Mcentire duo of Tortoise
Guitar 1: Mark Smith of Explosions In The Sky
Guitar 2: Ohad Benchetrit of Do Make Say Think
Guitar 3: Michael Gallagher of Isis
Bass: Dominic Atchinson of Mogwai
Keys: Noah Landis of Neurosis
Strings and Woods courtesy of Godspeed You! Black Emperor
Brass provided by Jaga Jazzist

Over the top? Tell me about it! LOL But just think of how cool and unique their sound would be. Atmospheres and textures not yet reached in Post Rock - far beyond the sun.

Benoit David - vocals
Trevor Rabin - guitar
Bill Bruford - drums
Patrick Moraz - keyboards
Peter Banks - bass (he can switch from guitar)

They could call themselves the Ex-Yesmen.

- Keith Tippet: Piano.
- David Cross: Violin.
- John Wetton: Bass, aditional vocals.
- Bill Bruford: Drums and percussions.
- Jamie Muir: Percussions.

I'm just listening to something from Rick Wakeman's "Songs from Middle Earth" album (which is almost the same album as 7 wonders of the World), and I thought about a nice line-up for some similar music:

-Rick Wakeman: Keyboards.
-David Gilmour: Guitars (and perhaps even vocals).
-Tony Levin: Bass.
-Nick Mason: Drums.

Mikael Akerfeldt: Vocals
Rihanna: Vocals

It would be a death-pop duo.

This is a pretty cool idea, even if it has been done before.

Vocals: Greg Lake or Jon Anderson
Electric Guitar: Robert Fripp or Frank Zappa
Acoustic Guitar/Vocals/Flute: Ian Anderson (hells yes!)
Bass: Chris Squire (best bassist in rock?)
Keyboards: Keith Emerson or Rick Wakeman... or maybe even David Sinclair of Caravan just because he can jam like crazy
Saxophone: David Jackson of VDGG
Drums/Percussion: Carl Palmer or Bill Bruford or Barriemore Barlow or Neil Peart if they want to get a little louder
Lyrics: Ian Anderson, Pete Sinfield, or Peter Hammill

So there it is. No idea what they would call it. And I can see some problems already, mainly the fact that Frank is no longer with us . and I managed to squeeze in all of ELP up there too. Oh well.

P.S. This is officially my first forum post on progarchives! Wow!

Robert Fripp (King Crimson, Session Work) - Lead Guitar, Overall Band Leader
Jan Akkerman (Focus, Solo) - Lead Guitar #2
Kerry Minnear (Gentle Giant) - Keyboards, Piano
John Wetton (King Crimson, Asia, Session Work) - Bass, Lead Vocals
Carl Palmer (Emerson, Lake & Palmer, Asia) - Drums, Persussion

This is my line up as of now, but I might think of more later on. I'm trying to think more of what would work in real life, rather than it's quality on "star power", but I think it's fairly effective in both personally.
