A good poll is when it's hard to pick, this is one of those cases. The End and When The Music's Over are both classic epics. L.A Woman is fantastic and has such a driving energy. Riders on the Storm is essential and one of the band's best songs. I'll have to sleep on it for now.

Wow, you have 'Ships w/ Sails' as an option, and it's post-Morrison! I voted for it just because you included it (was going to vote for Soft Parade). I wonder what it would have sounded like with Jim on vocals. A great song.

Riders on the Storm.
A Elbereth Gilthoniel
silivren penna míriel
o menel aglar elenath!
Na-chaered palan-díriel
o galadhremmin ennorath,
Fanuilos, le linnathon
nef aear, sí nef aearon!
The End and When the Music's over may be good songs by this band that I'm not really find of, but Light My Fire is a true proto-prog classic and my favourite Doors track.

"Riders on the Storm." I went out of my Doors faze a couple of decades a go, but this tune never goes out of faze for me. Ditto for "Touch Me" (although not an 'epic')...

I would have gone with "The Celebration of the Lizard" had it been included (more of a suite of song poems than an epic, and they didn't record it for a studio album as they had wanted to, so I wouldn't expect it)
But I voted for The Soft Parade. Could have easily gone with Light My Fire too, which actually has been the most important Doors song to me
