Yea, it's quite nice to have their albums all available for streaming on Bandcamp, with exception to Bard.

My anal need to Scrobble everything that I listen to makes it difficult for me to listen to stuff on Progstreaming and Bandcamp.  I hate listening to stuff that I can't scrobble.  It is the accountant in me.  LOL

In other news, I'm having a sh-t time at work this week, having to bend over backwards to work around missing data from our client, stuff I've been trying to get for most of this year, but they've gone through a massive systems change and corporate restructuring in the past couple of years.  I depend on the quality of their data, so my work has suffered as a result.  Getting down to crunch time now, and everyone's now realizing, "OHHHH... he really DID need that data."

what Last.fm calls it when it records a song you've listened to with their software.

So LastFm can keep track of what you listen to?  I figured it was something like that but I've never seen it in action or really understood it.  Eeeenteresting.

For most media players, you need to download the software on their site to get it to work, but for me at least once you have it set up it works well. It's nice because sometimes I'll look at my last.fm page and go "oh yeah, I listened to that".

Yes.  I play most everything either within iTunes or on my iPod, and both of these updated Last.FM.  Spotify also works so I am good with streaming albums on there.  When I listen to a physical CD or LP, I am anal enough that I will have it run iTunes so that it will scrobble the plays on Last.FM.  I've heard that there might be an easier way to do it, but I don't know one.  Pretty much everything that I have listened to in the last 5 years is recorded for dexterity's sake; not that it really means anything to anyone but me.  LOL  The only things that I don't record are the songs that I hear when I am out in public or at the gym or listening to the radio; that kind of stuff, although I am anal enough that I think it would be cool to somehow have those kind of listens scrobbled too.  Oh also, watching videos on YouTube doesn't get scrobbled so I kind of tend to keep that to a minimum too.  I lead such a sad existence. LOL

There is apparently some sort of script to scrobble youtube videos but I tried it and it didn't work.

I mostly listen to my music on an iPod, but it's not connected to the computer while it's playing.  How might that work?  Can it recall what you played , when you do plug it in to the computer later on?

Hmmm.  Maybe I will have to try it.  I think I remember reading that there was another website that did something similar to Last.FM, but that they allowed you to manually enter the songs or albums that you listened to, and it would update your records that way.  That would be nice for things like Bandcamp, Youtube, or just CDs and LPs.

20 years ago, a phrase like "script to scrobble youtube" would have had caused men in white coats to drag you away to the puzzle factory.

Yes. After i listen to albums/song on my ipod, i sync it up to my computer it'll have a window pop up saying what you listened to. Then you just "Scrobble".
