I got turned off to large concerts a long time ago. I just don't feel like I get much more out of it than I do just watching a good DVD.  I get less satisfaction out of large shows, and pay more money, than small shows.  Of course, if I were going to go to a large show, Rush would be one of the few bands I'd consider.  Thus the doubts.

Yeah I know what you mean about those big crouded shows, you can't move no where for a long time, and if you have to piss you have a big problem. But I personaly would do it again since I have never seen Rush ever.

Would you describe Frances the Mute has having extensive end/into filler?
Intro filler?

Miranda specifically, though i love the build up of sounds and tinkering. The ending though is :\

Though the title track, if you've ever heard it, has 4:30 of distorted bells.

I've seen Rush once, about 20 years ago (circa Roll the Bones).  Had decent (not great) seats in an amphitheater venue.  They were great, no doubt.

I've seen them almost every tour since the Presto tour.  The second time that I saw them we bought tickets for the Roll the Bones tour and got them upstairs on the other side of the arena from the stage.  Afterwards they announced a second show, and my buddy stayed overnight at the mall so he could be first in line and he got us tickets in the 4th row center stage on the floor.  Back in the days when an average Joe could actually buy a front row type seat for the same price as the rest of the floor.  That was about as awesome as a show could ever get.  Standing 10 feet away from Alex Lifeson and being straight on to Neil's drumkit for the entire show just totally blew me away.  That was back in the day when lasers were big too, so we had the lasers going over our heads for a number of songs, which was pretty kick ass back in the day.

What is the appeal of listening to pig squeals? Must one have grown up on a farm to enjoy this type of singing?

Cedric's? He sounds awesome throughout Frances, though i can understand the beef people have with his vocals from Amputechture - Octahedron.

If that was to my comment, no.  I am listening to a song from the band Nephelium.  The music is pretty sweet, but there are pigs squealing throughout the entire song which makes it damn near impossible to listen to.  That being said, I have a hard time with Cedric's voice as well.  Still waiting for it to grow on me, although admittedly I've not listened to them in a while.

It's expensive though so D:

I'm going to listen to their debut for the first time, since it was reissued, with a better cover too.

Stream of all their music it seems.

They had a free download of that one on their Reverb Nation page.  Not sure if it was original or re-issue.  I think it was original.  Is there a difference between the two?

"To ensure the best possible audio quality, Goodbye to the Age of Steam has been re-mixed by Rob Aubrey from the original master-tapes. The re-issue includes new artwork and a 12-page booklet with lyrics and sleeve-notes. The re-issue also features three bonus tracks; an extended version of 'Losing Your Way', a previously unreleased track called 'Far Distant Thing' (taken from a 1993 radio session), and 'Expecting Dragons', a recording by the current BBT line-up which re-works some of the musical themes from Goodbye to the Age of Steam"

Interesting.  I probably wouldn't notice the difference on the audio quality, but the three bonus tracks would probably be cool.  I'll have to check them out.
